What's new

Made-in-India Ships and Boats

From above i can see that Mazagon Dock Limited shipyard is most hard working. Rest of 'em should also work like Mazagon.

@acetophenol BTW do these include the one which've been made on license from other countries? or are all of them total made in India product?

Other than Mazagon Dock ltd,Garden Reach Shipbuilders also build several ships for the navy and other forces.

Other than Nilgiri class almost all other ships are pretty much complete Indian design, with help taken from outside in some cases.

So you mean, the ships aren't fully indigenous?
No they are not fully indigenous.Engines and and radars are foreign and so is gun.We have achieved 50% Indigenisation and will achieve 60% in next 5 years.

@jarves

Two Questions
1. What bout the Naval Kaveri engine? Any update on this regard?
2. Are the propulsion systems indigenous?

Hope we get total Indigenous-ed asap :cheers:

That's too long dude :mad:

Infact we can safely say that we have local production of majority of stuff used in these ships:

1.Propulsion: BHEL and Kirloskar made propulsion systems are used.
2.Radars ans sensors:Indian and license made systems are used.
3.Guns and Armament: BrahMos missiles are used.
Ak-630,Otrobeda 76mm are license made
Naval Medak guns are Indian spin offs of BMP guns
