Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Some feminists in the West have gone loco but we in South Asia have a long way to go in women's rights. It's easy to label all Western feminism as agenda driven and to resist good reforms in the name of 'traditional family values', but we need to prioritize the well being and rights of our women.

Traditional family values have been hijacked by men over the centuries.

I think the two most important things for women in society is women education and healthcare without those 2 a society can’t progress.

I’m all for women empowerment especially in terms of healthcare and education and we need to have stricter laws for sexual harassment and child abuse.

There seems to be a societal acceptance of staring culture and harassment. It has seemed to be damaging Pakistanis all around. Which leaks to Turkey situation.

Subcontinent people, on average, treat women like garbage. Family system can't be an excuse to crush all desires of women/girls.
Of course, laws should treat both sexes equally. It shouldn't move to the other extreme and grant undue privileges to women (like alimony disproportionate to her share in family wealth.)

Not directly an offspring of atheism, but of individualism from the point of view of capitalism.

It wouldn’t have been encouraged unless it was financially beneficial to the business class. In the early 70s when women entered the labor market (in the west) in large numbers it cut the bargaining power of the mostly male workforce and Unions in HALF.

As the guy in the video says, most men don’t have a lot of money.

Pakistan, like all nations, needs to shape its own culture or else others will fill the void. Not to be done by force or imposed because the people will not accept it as their own culture, but rather through a comprehensive alternative that protects the rights and responsibilities of all in society. As a nation founded on the basis of the majority faith, it behooves those with the power to set the right example and lead, lest we cede our culture to outside influence that are not beneficial to our entire population.

Education and literacy are important but that won’t solve the problem, because it’s about law enforcement. Pardon the language in the following video is more relevant now more the ever.

It has roots in personhood defined by liberalism (connection with atheism) and by principle of that worldview it became unmanagable social monster among other things.
Basically that so called movement if solve one problem on expense of that create 10 new ones, so answer for women position in society is not feminism for sure, especially western one, for worldwide countries if societies wants more women role in it better to drain solutions from other traditions then liberalism.
