Feeling sad ... my dog died today...

My German shepherd of near 17 years passed away on Thursday morning around 4 am.

He was so beautiful and gentle it hurts to see the place next to the stairs where he used to sleep.

I spent Thursday digging a hole through hard clay soil and rain for his final sleep.

Sorry bro My condolences. I have all my dogs laid out side by side in my garden under a chikoo tree as well. Also a pet parrot, and a goldfish.

I'm sorry bro.....i can't imagine what you and your family went through after saying good bye to your family pet. Specially after 17 years. My lil girl was my lil buddy and being so far away from family, she' was like my family here. Aish, ..

It's like a family member passing away. I've had dogs for the past 30 years and lost many. It was heart wrenching every time. I've got a mini dachshund now which will be my last as I cannot bear the pain of seeing them go.

yeah bro , even i stopped keeping dogs after i lost my two buddies . Its painful , now i occasionally feed some stray dogs or play with my neighbors dog , i will keep one when i can take real good care of it .

Sorry to hear that. I had my pup for four weeks, and it died because of my fault, yet i felt heartbroken despite the short time we spent.
How was it my fault? I took it out for a walk and it ate something poisonous on my watch.
