I wish I could give you positive rating for this.

Do you have higher resolution images?

But my dear, Mirages can only carry a single H type weapon.

I see your point. In this case maybe 2 thunders with REK's went along. I might have missed on this part.

14 sqn particpated in A2A capacity. The other two perhaps belonged to 16 sqn. Lets see if anyone has some more information.

what a missed opportunity.. should have taken down all 8 IAF birds that day.. gangs wont have said shit ...

i wanted them to do taran (wet) in yheir lungis ..
Doing so would have triggered them to decide on giving us a bigger blow and that’s for certain, situation would have escalated quicker and even more.

I think Op Swift Retort was a message, they might have kept in equation of taking down more numbers but that is when if indians come again after getting a blow in Swift retort, i am positive that they would have given a bigger hit had they come again.

Military planning is not a game of emotions and jazba-jihad or kim jong un threats. It takes many factors into careful consideration.

Lets say, if we had downed 10 IAF jets thats day, and IAF didn’t retaliate, and the situation cooled down, they would have done the proxy game of shooting down unlawfully, our birds on regular CAP on LOC when we could least expect.

It’s not about showing capability, it is about possessing it just to be displayed with full might during the actual fight. Op SR was a demo. Full capabilities of ours would definitely get them surprised during time of war and this would break their morales and confuse the planners.

its not about jazbaat, its about subduing your enemy. based on current rhetoric coming from indian camp, it is quite apparent that rhey havent learned their lesson.. at that time taking sown one plane made sense but today situation warranted a heavy handed reply..

I really hope that the Block-III will remove Pakistan's anxiety to not use JF-17 at the frontline of the battle field. I hope it gives our pilots the same confidence as the f-16s. Although it is good to hear this news that JF-17 carried out air to ground attacks inside IOK.
Simply the aim 120c out ranges the sd10 and r 77 bvrs..its as simple as that

Or closing all avenues of western weapons on pretext that we were agressors and shot their plans inside india..now nobody faults us for shooting abhi in pakistan

i thought the strike package was that of 24 aircrafts. if thats the case, then 4JF17 in A2G, 4 A2A, 4 Mirages in A2G and 8 F16 in A2A mode.

so you can imagine that India has control over information media. Now that i look back at all youtube videos and media talk, it was about 24 PAF aircrafts against 8 IAF aircrafts.. truth is finally out.

what is Comm control ?? were the strike package armed with sidewinders or PL5Es?
It's command control as the H-4 weapon has to be guided to the target.
While the strike package may have been armed with WVR missiles however their escort had BVR weapons.

Well it depends how many PAF aircraft went across the LOC.....the F-16s, for example, were patrolling deep inside Pakistan airspace and only one reportedly went into the Indian side.

I would love to be there on the Indian side control room watching 24 planes strike package crossing border in broad day light..... must be so unexpected .... many commanders must have spilled their tea hearing the news and panic must have ensued .....

They have 600 planes available but yet they scrambled may be six..... would love to talk to the overall commander in charge and question his sanity :..
