Pakistani media as a whole is pessimist and anti national to the core.Almost all Pakistani mainstream jurnos are doom-mongers when it comes to Pakistan.
Not long ago a Pakistani Media house ran a story about No Pakistani Uni is in top 334 Unis of world
while infact that ranking was about top 500 Unis of world and a Pakistani Uni was at no 335 but just for spreading negativity they closed ranking at 334,which is nothing short of dishonesty.
On another day they ran a story about tax collection was short of target by few billions but it was massive improvement as compared to last collection during same month of last year.
But still they chose not to mention it.
Some NEWS houses hardly look anything positive about their own state, which is alarming.

I am of opinion that from last 2 decades our media has been tasked to spread negative news about state and it's machinery for creation of a Nation with a ultimate defeatist mentality and they are a part of well laid out Psychological warfare against Pakistan, which is a planned tactical use of propaganda using our national Media that too during this period of security, political and geopolitical unrest for misleading, intimidating, demoralizing and influenceing the thinking and behavior of our Nation.
We must remember that langauge riots in Dhaka happened in 1952 and end result was seen 19 years later. In this case after systematic use of psychological warfare tools enemy was well able to pit brother in arms against each other and alienate large segment of people against their own state, that very state for which the laid stone.
We must nip the evil in bud.

You are a very kind hearted person. The media is full of a***h****. Its heavily funded by foreign agencies whether you believe it or not. This media needs to be controlled in a way which keeps the "freedom of speech" nonsense intact to show the western world and at the same time crack the behinds of every media outlet in the country. All news stories should be reviewed for accuracy before being allowed on print or digital media. Keep in mind that its information warfare. when people like me living abroad look at the news, its all doom and gloom

31% are unemployed, rest who are employed 83% are in danger of losing their jobs. What is so hard to believe there. Chances are the situation is far worse than reported in this article, I personally know half of my class is still unemployed or looking for a suitable position.

This is nothing new , 17 years ago in mushi's time when I did my masters in a scientific subject, three quarters of my class fellows were also either unemployed or "under-employed" for many years to come. It is just that today we live in the sh1tty age of "news", "news" and "news" only 24 hours a day and everyone just gets paranoid by following these 24 hours sh1tty news outlets. Everything good or bad was happening in the past too, it just wasn't in the news on daily basis the way it is these days and makes people cynical about everything around them.

Tough market for engineering jobs in our country. Nobody makes anything or designs anything. Can you code?

Who told you this and how you even know about it being born and grown up in UK and having a connection to a far flung area of Azad Kashmir in Pakistan which isn't known for producing mechanical engineers. Mechanical engineers have been quite successful over the decades in most urban industrial areas of Pakistan including my native city Gujranwala, definitely more successful than electrical engineers due to the nature of manufacturing units in Pakistan which have been mostly based on mechanical technology.

I live in the UK and engineers in my part of the country can have a different job every month if they like. that's a good market.

Forget what I know... If your Gujranwala is so great, help the brother get a job. Naiki ka kaam hai - arguing with people like me is fazool.

He is NOT my brother, I have no interest to make "brothers" on this forum.

Nope havent taught. Only Basics of MATLAB
You can learn in a month completely for free through YouTube. Your job prospects will go through the roof.

I'm a mechanical engineer too and worked in the field for 4-5 years before switching to computer engineering and never looked back Alhumdulilah

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
What CGPA do you have currently and from which University you have graduated?

Nope havent taught. Only Basics of MATLAB
Okay I understand what about AutoCad?

So the concept used behind this news is

57 jobs are in danger out of 69.

Remaining 12 jobs which are of 100% secure and those are ARMY jobs which journalist gave silent message to all and job done by journalist.

Yeah, thought as much. Went missing when it's time to walk the walk.

I was going to give you the same advice @Syed1. did. Use online courses, learn to code - there is an abundance of work. Keep looking for work in your field, your rozee is in Allahs hands, but keep up skilling and try coding work on fiverr or other freelancer platforms. @syed1 could probably advise you what is good in your field too, I'm sure he has no problem considering each of us a brother.

A good platform to learn on is futurelearn. Completely free, you only pay for the certificate.

https://www.futurelearn.com/subjects/it-and-computer-science-courses/coding-programming

Also in the past I signed up for stuff on

https://www.udemy.com/

Although I've heard the quality can vary.

Don't be disheartened - the world is yours for the taking.

i not think so,i personally know many educated engineers and other professionals who not get job here but found better earning jobs abroad in countries who are performing much better than Pakistan and are more developed and advanced, the problem is with our incompetent economy who is not utilizing human resource properly ,if space engineer working in nasa comes to Pakistan and not get job as we have no space program it is actually our incompetence not that of engineer
There is no unemployment problem. Only incompetent people don't get jobs.

I think that is an insensitive and inaccurate thing to say. Maybe you have a job, maybe you have a professional family background, perhaps Allah sought to bless you. All these tiny advantages we have we don't appreciate.

I was the first from my family to get a degree. This includes my cousins and extended family, apart from one distant uncle who was in the police in AJK.

It is through luck I forged a career and with the guidance of kind strangers. I didn't know how to interview properly, how to search for the right kind of jobs, how to present my CV. This was in spite of careers services at school, a professional govt body to help young people into jobs and the university running workshops on cv building and interviews. There is no substitute for experience and a guiding hand.

Times were good, luck lag gya. I got a role as a junior QA. As a junior I will never forget the support of a lovely English lady who was my first mentor (she passed away recently and left behind a young family). I was also supported by a Croatian lady to had my back when someone tried to pin a failed project on me, a Punjabi sikh guy who knew one of my cousins helped too. Also a young Gujarati brother who treated me like his own. He taught me so much about the way of the professional world.

We all owe part of our success to the people we met along the way and we have a duty to pay that debt by helping others on thier way.

Some of our youth might have the wrong attitude, might have poor skills, degrees without worth - but with the right guidance they can play a part somewhere. In an environment without development of professional behaviour and other soft skills, without focus on independent learning and continued professional development - they're going to struggle.

The proof is in this: so many who can't crack it in Pakistan, manage it elsewhere in more supportive environments.

Kudos to those who overcome the same barriers and succeed in Pakistan - you guys deserve credit and admiration.

Of course.

There is abundance of jobs and not enough people.

These media houses are lying. I just bought a kg of tomatoes at 17rs.

The only one we should believe and honesty drips from their faces is Imran Khan and his government. Everyone else is a liar.

In 22 crore population, only Imran Khan and his blessed ministers are sadiq and amin. From media houses to common man, everyone is suffering from bughz e Imran because Imran is pohonchi hui cheez that everyone is jealous of him and lies about him.

Crap, brb, 10 people are outside my home offering me jobs. I gotta tell them i already have a job.
