Failed suicide attack kills bomber in Azad Kashmir

The targeting of Pakistan Army soldiers and assets deployed in Azad Kashmir and in Gilgit-Baltistan (and in some cases civilian targets as well), might certainly indicate the use of terrorists in Pakistan by Indian intelligence.

Yes Sir...its so true, Baitullah was getting huge sum of money from India. Its locals statement from Pak border region, India is meddling and pumping money to TTP and other groups.,

.
Or, isn't it just possible that people in Pakistan Controlled Kashmir are also dissatisfied and one maniac tried to kill some innocent civilians, and fortunately failed?

Ever considered that?

Plastic explosives, Det cord and military detonators are really difficult for a lone person to get his hands on. Surely the work of an organized terrorist outfit.

Or terrorist outfits sponsered by forigen agencies!

Dissatisfied with what? If you are trying to draw a simmilarity with situation in held Kashmir, then i don't think there is one. Because for one - if it had been the case then - such incidents would have been more frequent. And, there are lots of other ways to show such sentiments.

now several pakistanis see an "Indian " hand in this incident ....what they conveniently choose to ignore are the desperate conditions in the so called "Azad Kashmir" .....this could very well be a dire indication to the years of economic neglect and mounting frustration among the local populace while a group of fanatics come in trucks and jeeps screaming about "Azaadi" from " indian occupation" and "jihad against India" for recruiting misguided youths.....i suspect this incident is a grim reminder to the ISI that " a serpent would inevitably bite the very hand which feeds it"........

Blaming others and yet you have conveniently come up with a half-baked theory minus facts !

pardon me sir but nowhere in the article is there any mention of an Indian connection to the blast.....even the government officials are yet to comment on any Indian role...alleged or otherwise....

as regards the " half baked theory" part.....it is a general fact not a theory....the prosperity on our side of the border has long been measured and rated higher than yours by independent sources.....
..no one disputes that.....regards....

It doesn't. And neither does it say that people in AJK are dissatisfied. And it's not a Pakistani news. It's AFP. Neutral source.

As i was saying, if you are familiar with AFP stories you would have noticed that they usually pad it up with background info. On Indian part, it usually mentions the discontent with Indian state rule. That's not the case in stories about AK. Even indian coverage on the recent Kashmir violence has made note of the unemployment in Kashmir. I'm not implying that situation in AK is rosy. But, there must be many other areas in India where poverty and unemployment would be an issue for many people but they do not want freedom. There is a difference in discontent and disapproval.

while i m in empathy with your view point I would still like to point out that independent articles about the part called Azad Kashmir are very few and not easily available or even verifiable in mainstream sources .....and this is due to an excessive censorship put in place on journalists and neutral observers by the GOP .....also while political freedom might be an issue on our side (as depicted by the afore mentioned news source)......we know nothing about any social freedom , religious freedom or even real political freedom in AJK......beyond what is officially proclaimed ( an independent parliament and constitution ....2 words in short)....while every miniscule error in J & K is prominently featured in flashing headlines all over the world.......regards.....

I knew you would come up with this

What can i say .. by the way neutral observors of UN are sitting right on the borders !

You admitt your lack of knowledge on issues in AK but still you believe there is wide spread discontent ? If there are no independent articles, as you say, how would you come to know of this discontent?

from once in a while media reports like this one we can only assume the reasons .....if there was as much literature online about AJK as there is about J& K we would get a clearer picture......btw it doesnt really take a genius to know desperate poverty breeds widespread discontent and frustration.....

and I trust my media and my Government when they talk of terror camps in AJK .....why would young men from a developed region choose to engage in militancy...? the answer is quite obvious.....

besides I have read a few articles ( compared to India bashing ones they are indeed very few) about the conditions in AJK from no other than Expatriate kashmiris themselves from both sides of the border....thats why I personally believe so....of course the masses would never get to see some obscure blog descriptions of
some kashmiri individuals.....:frown:

btw neutral observers of the U.N are stationed at the border to monitor the ceasefire and the violations as they occur......

Feel free to disagree but in my opinion, India had very little or no part to play in THIS PARTICULAR incident. We came across Indian infiltrators during 2002 tensions, suicide bombing is not really their thing. They are too important to lose through suicide attacks plus they are not ideologically driven and thus hold life dear. They cannot carry armed bombs from Indian Held Kashmir into Azad Kashmir due to obvious risks. They therefore carry their "Merchandise" cross over "Set up Shop" arm their "Package" install it on the intended location and then from somewhere out of site they observe the attack to be able to produce a detailed damage assessment afterwards. So, Indian element......not in my opinion..............

Assumptions are often blinded by chauvinism my friend !

Literature is generated by interest..and happenings !

And urge for freedom as well?

So you are also assuming that all these young men are Kashmiris from AK?

Some of these expatriates have also written about Indian attrocities. Why not believe them as well? Why not see the fault of your own government as well?

This was just an example that AK is not closed to the world. It doesn't exist in isolation. Do you think these observors just stay at the border? They don't. They usually go to the fence once a week. Mostly at the crossing points to oversee the exchange. Don't you think they share their views and findings with the press in their countries when they go back?
