Facebook assures Pakistan to remove blasphemous posts, prevent misuse of social media

See where your road is taking you?
Well right now a nice cuppa of Yorkshire tea, but on the other point I think some ground can be acceeded to those who want blasphemy protection. Althought it would have to be crafted well or it will become tool of oppression.

The point being made is that there are limitations or exceptions. And one exception is not any more exceptional than another. Its about the principle that counts.
That's what you've missed. The principle invoked to ban HD in Europe wasn't about feelings. It was anti-fascism. European countries occupied by the Nazis wanted to eliminate the Nazi shadow and banning HD assures them that they are in control, not the Nazis' heirs.

Yes, I agree there is element of this. It is form of redemption sought through legislation for historical crimes and also to engender a impression of reformed societies. It is in fact guilt being expressed through law.

I'm pretty sure it's the dominant element. I don't think I even heard of the idea that HD was banned out of consideration for Jews' feelings until I read it here.

You can silence free speech in your county, but you will have to face reality if you ever step outside.

.
You're right, it's your country your rules.

But it's no worse than the example you gave. Both are mixing religion and state law together(your case it's the whole country) which riles up ultra sensitive lunatics.

No not our whole country, plus we have people like Bhensa on our sides too who like to post Blasphemous content online .. i want religion and state to run separately but even than i won't recommend that someone post blasphemy content to provoke others and insult someone's belief system , eating a cow is different from Insulting a Prophet or God .

How?!
Who are you to judge that eating a cow does not hurt the religious sentiment of Hindus?! Why is your sensitivity more credible than others? Just because you eat cow makes it ok to trample on others feelings?
Maybe the argument Hindus make is that they don't have prophets in their religion, so it's Assinine for Muslims to be sensitive about a cartoon or a pictoral depiction of the prophet, esp since Hindus like to visualize their gods and saints. Will you be ok with such blatant dismissal of your feelings to your religion?

Now I'm simply trying to make a point here. If you're claiming sensitivity to your religion, you must learn to respect that of others and not be dismissive.
That's the only path to peace, harmony and coexistence.
And mind you I'm neither religious nor hold myself from beef.
