F35 vs rafale comprehensive comparison

http://www.defense-aerospace.com/ar...’t-sell-gripen-jets-to-pakistan-(july-8).html

ISLAMABAD --- In a setback to Pakistan’s efforts to get new generation Swedish-made Gripen fighter planes, Stockholm has said that it will not sell any weapons or weapon-related equipment to Islamabad.

There is no question of selling them weapons or anything directly related to weapons,” Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds said after her talks with visiting Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in Stockholm yesterday.

Before his talks with Freivalds, Musharraf, who is currently on a tour of Scandinavian countries, said that Pakistan might be interested in purchasing JAS Gripen fighter planes from Sweden. “Pakistan is looking for a high-tech aircraft. Gripen is one of several alternatives,” he was quoted as saying by Swedish newswire TT.

Freivalds, however, said Sweden would not be considering the sale of any weapons or weapon-related equipment to Pakistan, media reports here said.

She also said the Swedish government has yet to decide whether to sell Erieye radars, which was sought to be purchased by Pakistan for its Air Force. She said a decision has to be made whether the radar came under the category of weapon. “We have yet to reach that stage,” she said.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has been looking for alternatives to acquire new generation aircraft to modernize its ageing fleet after US declined to sell old as well as new F-16 fighter planes.

Musharraf concluded his Sweden visit yesterday and went to Finland on a two-day trip.
So AWACS aren't considered weapons ?? Because they did sell those to us :)

And despite harbouring concerns about your small budget jf17 getting ripped apart by bigger more powerful flankers and mig 29 your now Hoping your block three is comparable to the thirty years old falcons .
:rofl::enjoy: and your Flankers and Mig-29 is not a 40 year old designs @Storm Force :enjoy:

Sweden has never offered Gripen to Pakistan.
On the contrary, when Musharraf mentioned that Pakistan was interested in Gripen,
during a state visit to Sweden, he was told to forget about it.

If the Swedish will continue to maintain the position to not sell offensive weapons to Pakistan even if Gripen fails MMRCA 2.0, then that will be good news.

Hi,

Thanks for the post---.

So---one truth that comes out of it then---that the PAF air chief lied to pakistanis about the Grippen when he stated that " we cannot absorb the technology "---?????

It's open source information that many European countries will not sell "weapons" to countries with potential of going to war. So SAAB may have given presentations about the Gripen to Pakistan, but SAAB needs govt approval to actually sell it.

Mush may have been talking about something else. Like license production rather than an outright purchase.

Hi,

Paf got from SAAB GRIPPEN what was needed---.

I the next 10 years time---JF17 will beat grippen in over all sales---.

The swedes fckd up---their holier than thous egos got the better of them.

AWACS are in a different category of military equipment than fighter jets.
The AWACS request came at the same time and the article states that this, unlike the Gripen would be considered, and obviously it was approved.

PAF got to look at Gripen in aircraft magazines and recommended to the Chinese in the joint venture that the JF-17 should have both a fuselage and wings, and let the Chinese decide the rest?
If you sell JF-17 at the subsidized cost of $8M like the Nigeria deal you might be right.
Meanwhile hardly anyone is looking at JF-17 seriously, and Myanmar, the only other export order bought from China.

Can Pakistan Afford a $200 million combat plane be it Rafale or Typhoon or indeed F35

The reason yiou acquire 18 block 52 is they are purchased USING USA grant aid funding.

THIS HAS NOW STOPPED ……………..and the threat of sanctions on spares from USA on PAF is very real

That leaves RUSSIA who will never provide funding assistance

SO we go to china …………………

ITS LIKE there is no other options left

Rafale will completely decimate anything PAF has now and in near future

J31 god knows if that becomes reality or not

You buy Rafale, we operate Pakistan with S500.....wet dreams:chilli:

can u share any source or link? becoz as much I know no country would deny a big sale, secondly every country want orders to continue running their weapon industry

Maybe You should start be reading the thread from the beginning.
The source has already been provided.
There are plenty of examples of countries refusing to sell.
The US refused to sell F-16s to Pakistan during a period.
Germany refused selling tanks to KSA.
Sweden refuses to sell weapons like Gripen to a fairly large number of countries,
including Pakistan and the Middle East. That is well known.

Bullying nations into buying lasts a short time
Refusing countries begging, even shorter.
Then the sour grapes appear.

The swedes fckd up---their holier than thous egos got the better of them.

As far as they are concerned, they will disagree. PAF used the new F-16s against civilian targets in NWFP. That would have been unacceptable to the Swedes if Gripen was involved.

I the next 10 years time---JF17 will beat grippen in over all sales---.

A poor country will buy the JFT. Any serious country with intentions to find common ground with China will opt for the J-10.

Hi,

These are sob stories---.

If your mom was dying of cancer and you could afford the price---you would care less if the medicine was made in the US France or Israel---.

Once you know about the restriction---then it is the prudent thing to learn to find ways to manipulate the situation to your advantage---.

If you keep doing the old things the old ways---you are going to get the same results as you did in the past---.

Self reliance is fine when you have equipment matching the enemy's equipment---.

But when all your self reliance equipment is inferior to that of the enemy's---and you have nothing to match the enemy with---then this recipe of disaster is indeed home grown---.

If it was not for the services of the hungarian canon maker---Mehmet would not have been able to break the walls of constantinopole---.

That canon maker brought in the most advanced canon manufacturing technology by manufacturing the largest canon of its time---.

Proves the point that some of your equipment has to be better than the enemy's equipment---.
In few words at least for AD the JF17 block -3 with other support elements shall suffice PAF needs, even to counter mighty Rafael. On issue of not selecting Rafael in the past why not take opinion of professionals on this forum and majority views should prevail.
You perhaps have more leverage to directly communicate with them, please ask question to Mr Wind Jammer, both Bilals to settle matters fore ever.

On lighter side many of my close relatives in the past have died due to not affording proper medical facilities, same shall be case with me and others. The affordability issue remains in many cases, we already have indulge in heavy expenses for our Atomic program can't afford another one.

The topic is about rafale v f35 two of the most advanced combat systems in the world.

It is not about the cheap budget jf17 which is way way inferior and has seperate section regard less of block two or three putting lipstick on a *** does.not change ground reality .

The only Chinease system worthy of mention in this thread is J20

Jf17 specs and capabilities were finalized by pak per our requirements which themselves arise from our experience with f16
Please share link of 8 million $ unit sale

If you are interested, check how much Nigeria paid.
Anyone can dump the market and get a few odd sales.

NIGERIA BUDGETS ADDITIONAL PAYMENT FOR JF-17 ORDER FROM PAKISTAN
ShareTweet

In its federal budget proposal for 2018, Nigeria has allocated NGN 13.12 billion ($36 million U.S.) as a payment for an order for three JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighters – along with support equipment and spare parts – from Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC).

This follows an earlier allocation in 2016 worth NGN 5 billion ($13.9 m U.S.).

Nigeria’s budget proposal confirms that the Nigerian Air Force’s order for three JF-17s is still in place, but it is being executed through installments paid in cash. The Nigerian Air Force, PAC and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) have yet to release a timeline for deliveries.
