Experience Pakistan project being launched in United States: Jilani

most western people think pakistan as a poor version of holidaying in india

This program is too little too late and Pakistan families that arrange such trips themselves to meet extended family or grandparents don't get much success, only prove to show how huge gap there is between Americans and PAkistanis.
Motive looks the same as birthright israel trips, don't think Pakistani embassy can spend that much money and take that many people in israel-inspired program, which had huge backing of an NGO also.
Pakistani embassy missions can do more effective with a community attache in touch with the community. Also the birthright israel targeted carefully calculated selections e.g., students with a strong future ahead like a degree from good college and were the unlikeliest to go there.
How will Pakistani Embassy convince a child from an interfaith or non-muslim family where one of the parent is Pakistani heritage and not muslim, to take such a trip. Pakistani embassy more likely can scheme to cajole cronies and family friends to go on all-expenses paid trip to Pakistan.
The only thing that i am not worried about is the trip itself, Pakistan is a warm, hospitable place where ppl themselves guide someone if they feel he does'nt know the way, hopefully then to feel the contrast they should go to Delhi which US media promotes as land of gurus and spirituality, if a rapistani taxi driver senses the tourist does'nt have any idea where he is he can exploit, the American, Canadian tourist by prolonging the route to double or triple the fare to even become a bollywood happy go lucky tourist guide befriending the victims who can use drugs, or even lure her to bar to later abuse the victim sexually alone or with 2 or 3 friends in the back of the car.
As such incidents go unreported US had to put travel advisory for female tourists venturing alone in Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, etc.. hehehehe .

Which (India) is already consider a poor man's choice of vacationing..by the western world.

This Project will provide a chance to develop positive image of PAKISTAN Which is most necessary

whats the point of this program? wouldn't parents of the pak origin kids, if they are willing to send them to Pakistan, would already be doing so anyway?

Still better than over populated rape capital of the world!

How many foreign tourists visit Delhi ??

You think forests are the only thing that attracted tourists...? Also that 3% 'forest cover' thing is bullshit. The entire North is covered with forests; forests crowd the Indus, forests can be found all the way down south Sindh and Balochistan.

and i'm just naming some; there are so many more.

3% forest cover is offficial data backed by satellite imagery
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forestry_in_Pakistan

beaches are great. Something tells me you do not have Western tourists coming in large numbers.

mountains in Pakistani Kashmir, Gilgit/Balistan attracts tourists

Afghan border has been too lawless for tourism

Baluchistan is barren

cultural tourism is a niche - you will get in the order of few thousands

Good development, if true.

Indians are socially very active in the U.S. They have managed to cultivate a favorable outlook of India there.

Pakistan seriously needs to step up its game in the U.S. and change its image there.

Not a bad idea, but shouldn't Pakistan try to attract more non-Pakistanis to Pakistan? This is where Pakistan's image problems lie. Perhaps offer college students a semester abroad.

this coincedes at the same time when USA is putting sanctions in Pakistan for missille testing lol

I am sure single women visit Pakistan

Taj Mahal was built by a Muslim king. Most of the laborers were Hindu

Foreigners visit India
