So my brother visited Pakistan for a wedding ( a rich well do Indian Muslim_ bollywood connection who married into a well do family in Pakistan). we are Hindus and this fella ( Muslim) has been his best bud since childhood.

He had this wonderful story how Pakistani locals even said " you from India my friend( bhai jan) , come sit have chai with us and treated him as so warmly, that I have to wonder how many Indians have been to Pakistan and vice versa and have had the same experience?

I know, the Pakistanis I have hired ( trust me , these guys have the IT talent) in the US have always been warm and friendly and not like most Pakistanis here. so question is -what gives? are you guys just antagonistic towards Indians here because of the anonymous status the net affords here?

I wish I could have come there for the wedding- but I have a blonde blue eyed american wife and an 8 year child that quite honestly I was worried if we would could come to the wedding- given , with all due respect, the attitude towards americans there, a safe thing to do...

I have met a few pakistanis here( they are friends of my friend who is Indian). They were good to me, and I was good to them too. They had this strong urge to explain their country's situation( I dont know why) and keep bringing politics & religion which I was avoiding. They also told me that pakistan is a more tolerant country than India because of sufism.
They seemed to belong to working class in pakistan(they came via student visa here, only to do hard jobs)

May be constant bad news made them self conscious( only time I really felt like everybody was looking at me was when they showed the CWG toilets, I had this strong urge to bring that into conversation and defend us Indians)

One of the guys was a rich landlord's son, and strangely he behaved like a landlord even here. He did not hide the fact that he drank( he told me not to tell others) and had enough time at hand to watch all Indian saas-bahu serials in pakistan.(I dont know many Indian friends who watch serials meant for women).
He also told me, it would have been nice if we were not divided at all. I was silent although I wanted to disagree.

Strangely british people of pakistani origin seemed a bit hostile to Indians( I may be wrong) compared to those who came from pakistan to uk.

His voice is dead, he is banned..Jana ji, use your connections in forum to bring him back for his message:P

all i could see the point he wanted to convey was blond blue eyes, american citizen and possible safety worries.

he could have asked if it was ok for him to come here along with his American wife and we would have told him the situation :)

he complicated it by twisting too far :P

Pakistan is generally safe country , and also there are thousands of foreigners living safely in Pakistan - but you still have to follow common sense , like not carrying huge amount of cash with you. Also do sensible things.
