Those waves that you are referring to are actually Conformal fuel tanks and they are removable, so that they can and will be added later on.

Funny how the cockpit of the F-16IN resembles that of the Jf-17.. alas the underlying avionics and radar are far far more advanced.

It's still better than nothing. These 18 F-16's will land PAF into the modern 21st century and there's a lot for us to learn from this upgraded platform. And you can't say that these will not help us in our "Current Situation". The PAF is actively taking part in the counter-insurgency operations and the better technology you have, the more effectively you can target your enemy with precision-guided weapons and munitions. Collateral damage will reduce and our experience with the block-52's in real-time operations will increase. All of that would be essential for us to strengthen our fleet for tomorrow.

stop being so negative buddy! 18 is better than none right! and secondly we don['t have the money to buy more thanx to corrupt LEADERS! and finally we are not going to war with just 18 fighters rest assured we got lots of things to fight with.....and this was proven in december 2008 when our airforce was ready to defend our airspace without JFs without BVRs without BLK 52s!!!!

This deal will pave way for current 45 f-16 MLU which will bring them close to current block 52 standard.
PAF is also negotiating for release of 20 or so PAF embargoed F-16s
