I was never disappointed more by a person than him. I looked up to him. He was the all action commando - he was behind Kargil, he removed Nawaz Sharif but the moment he stepped outside of the uniform he found himself lacking and ultimately bought ruin to the country.

1. He never hung Sharif - he could have rid us of the swine.

2.He folded on the WoT and didn't extract value from the situation.

3. Drone strikes and selling of people to Gitmo happened under his watch.

4. He folded to the judges.

5. His final nuclear bomb - NRO.

I hope his supporters and the rest of the Pakistani Army Generals remember that we will all face this day and the judgement that awaits.

May Allah swt all us to prepare for it.

I find it so ironic that Pakistanis will always complain about those that try to fix them, but will never accept their own jahiliyat in society and why those people were required.

Tried to push Pakistan in right direction but ultimately failed with NRO. Many good things for economy in his time. Pulled millions out of poverty. If he’s judged against Benazir he’s definitely better. If he’s judged against the group of thieving generals like Bajwa, he’s a star, a patriot.

Musharraf was the tenth president of the South Asian nation after the successful military coup in 1999. He served as the 10th CJCSC from 1998 to 2001 and the 7th top general from 1998 to 2007.

I don't think Musharraf had a choice in the aftermath of 9/11. The entire planet was riled up by the event - US intervention in Afghanistan had global support at the time - Pakistan's non-cooperation would have isolated you globally.

If you want to blame someone for the prevalence of extremism in Pakistan, you have to blame Zia for supporting CIA's Mujahideen program. Zia did have the choice of not getting involved in the Cold War to the extent that he did. Mujahideen program took Wahabist/Salafist extremism in this region to a whole new level - Taliban an AQ are direct products of the program. Even Bangladesh bore the brunt as Bangladeshi ex-Mujahideens returning home formed local fundamentalist organisations (some of these are even terrorist organisations like JMB) which continue to brainwash kids to this day.
