Punjabi Music Industry is a big hit in whole of North India.
Not only in North India, but Punjabi Music has made its presence felt in entire India.
Over the years Punjabi Music has changed a lot. From just Punjabi Folk it has changed into Ultra Modern music Industry, which even Bollywood has started copying.

I think the main reason is money. A famous Punjabi singer easily makes 5-10 lacs per show. They earn more, they spend more on Videos and quality of Music.
