well i didn't like this scene

the story that (Doctor) is telling, i think even 5 year old Muslim child knows it correct and the way he is trying to brain-wash peoples sitting right in the Mosque i didn't like the scene in the end

only the educated ones. The ones living in rural areas, who are taught the same thing from the beginning tend to believe it.
A person is only as good as his education. These things are happening and need to be stopped. World wide terrorism in the name of Jihad is a proof of this.

Well of course it is true, but not everyone knows the entire context and story, hence the manipulation by extremist preachers we see happening in various places. The main point being that Ismail Alayhis salam was not sacrificed at the end and it was only a test. And that satan(in the form of a human stranger) had tried to misguide Ibrahim AS as well.

Ofcourse its overtly dramatised. People hardly talk so loudly inside the mosque as its considered disrespectful. And the throwing of stones I think is symbolically related to the Hajj ritual where you are required to throw stones at the same pillars where Ibrahim AS was being misguided by Satan and where he resisted Satan's temptation by throwing stones at him. Throwing stones is also a complete no no as well. But I guess its that dramatic affect particular for muslim audience of connecting the stoning ritual with the "hate preacher"

Haven'nt seen the movie yet, but have heard that it has the usual heavy dose of Bollywood drama with a muslim in America theme.

its a very long story and when we Muslims performs Hajj (one of the 5 pillars of Islam) almost every single thing we perform there is somehow connected to Prophet Ibrahim A.S. and this is also one of that

In short:

In Islamic beliefs, Abraham had prayed to God for a son (Isma in Arabic means 'to listen' i.e answer prayer, and ell is derived from the Chaldean-Semitic word el, meaning God). God delivered this child to Abraham, and later tested Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice his only son at the time. However, just as Abraham was to kill his only son, God halted him, praised him for his loyalty, and commanded him to sacrifice a ram instead. This leads to the Muslim practice of sacrificing domesticated animals such as sheep, goats, cows or camels on the celebration to mark this event known as Eid ul-Adha.

The Trial of Ibrahim by Allah

Ismail was only nine when his father Ibrahim saw in a dream, that he sacrificed his only son to please Allah. On seeing the same dream on three consecutive nights, he told Ismail about it. Ismail replied that it must be a test from Allah to test their wills, and he was willing to be sacrificed in the way of Allah. Ibrahim took his son Ismail to Mina, laid him on the ground, and tied his arms and legs with a cord. As he placed his knife on the throat of his son, the Archangel Jibril (Gabrial) appeared and announced that the test of their ultimate submission to Allah was complete. Just then, by the Grace of Allah, a healthy lamb appeared there to be sacrificed in place of Ismail. Ibrahim was given the happy tiding that Allah was pleased with them, and their position would be elevated. Ibrahim was also given the happy news of another son, Ishaq.

This act of the great prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail became an essential part of Hajj for all times, and is celebrated a day before the annual Eid al-Adha'.

in my own words: When Prophet Abrahim A.S was taking his son to sacrifice, Shaitaan came to him and said "Hey are you going to kill your own son? who you got after long prayers and tried to convince him so that he abondon his plan to sacrifice his son" but Ibrahim A.S. had learnt this is Shaitaan so he picked the small pieces of Stones and pelted on to shaitaan

Later on Shaitaan appeared once again and Prophet Ibrahim A.S. repated the same procedure once again and in total he appeared Thrice (Three times) and in total he stoned/pelted Shaitaan with 7 small pieces of Stone at every single place

When we Muslims go and perform Hajj (that is of 5 days) on day 4 & 5 we repeat the same procedure of what Prophet Ibrahim did at the very same place and on day 3 we stone only one shaitaan and not 3

(There is no shaitaan there but that is exactly the same place in which Shaitaan was appeared so the govenment had made a kind of a pillar (now been converted into the wall) and we just stone on to that wall to remember that incident)

and according to another version of the story...... Shaitaan first came to the wife of Hazrat Ibrahim A.S and she pelted stones on shaitaan, later on came to Ismael A.S. whispering your father is going to kill you and he stoned shaitaan saying "It is the commandment of Allah and i am happy with this decision" and finally he came to Prophet Abraham/Ibrahim A.S and he did the same.

Prophet Ibrahim A.S. is regarded as one of the mightiest prophet in all Muslims, Christians and Jews. All of them respect them and accept them as one of the Prophets of Allah

I don't know abt My name is khan... but I loved shah-rukh khan in the movie Hey Ram... which deals with hindu-muslim friendship... it is a masterpiece from kamal hassan and khan was absloutely brilliant... it is one of the most underrated movie in India. I would like to show one of the emotional and important scene from the movie
