PANAJI: Hindu is a word used by "non-Indians referring to Indians, many times irrespective of religion" and in the Gulf countries even a Muslim from India is called a Hindu, chief minister Manohar Parrikar told the Goa legislative assembly on Wednesday.

"It's a word used by non-Indians referring to Indians, many times irrespective of religion... If you go to Gulf countries even a Muslim (from India) is called Hindu by them," Parrikar said in an intervention during a discussion in the assembly on archives and archaeology even as leader of opposition Pratapsingh Rane contended that the word Hindu did not exist in the ancient Vedas.

"There is no word Hindu in the Vedas. There is no Hindu word. Maybe our deputy chief minister is thinking that there may be something," Rane said, singling out deputy chief minister Francis D'Souza who on July 25 had sparked a national controversy by claiming that India was already a "Hindu nation".

"There is no word Hindu in the Vedas. There is no Hindu word.''

Yet kamzaat hindus in this forum never stop reminding us that we were hindus once. Arabs used to differintiate Pakistan and Bharat thousand years ago as Al-Sindh for Pakistan and Hind for Bharat. So its expected arabs will call any Indian ''hindu'' even now.

''In 711 AD, Muhammad bin Qasim led an Umayyad force of 20,000 cavalry and 5 catapults. Muhammad bin Qasim defeated the Raja Dahir, and captured the cities of Alor, Multan and Debal. Sindh became the easternmost province of the Umayyad Caliphate and was referred to as "Al-Sindh" on Arab maps, with lands further east known as "Hind"

Do you dispute that historically the word Hindu meant Indian until it was confined to believers of Sanatana dharma. ;) @oye_natta Persians coined the the term Hind/Hindu, not Arabs. ;)

Indians usually blame Pakistan for Hate/Abuse against Hindu's but in reality if they have visited muslim countries like Afghanistan(yes Afghanistan),Gulf countries or even Iran they would come to know that Hindu's are also hated in those countries and again not as much as much in Pakistan.

Hindu in Short is considered a bad words in the above mentioned countries except Pakistan.Infact Pakistan is the only muslim country having respect for Hindu Word(May be malaysia also)

Its very hard to take word of kamzaat seriously, Pakistanis should only discuss hindu matters with Indian brahmins who have authority on ganga hindu. Bhangii kamzaat like @INDIC have hijacked ganga hinduism.

kya hua beta, maine chot de di kya.

He is right though. I have lived in Qatar, and the Arabs there treat all Sri Lankans, Indians, Pakistanis regardless of their religion as kaafir. Once, a bunch of their kids stood in front of us and made a show of praying as if they actually had any piety in them.

I guess in Arab countries Indians are called "Hindis"

Actually the word "Hindu" and "India" is a wrong deduction of Sindh!
Persians, Arabs and Europeans (British) took the word Sindh and replaced "S" with "H" so it became Hind after Sindh and British/European also removed "S" completly so it became "Ind(ia)".
British discovered modern day "India", conquered it and founded "India" which didn't exist before the British came.
They called the inhabitents as "Indians" and their religion as "Hinduism".
Indian and Hindu is the same thing. An Indian who says he is Indian and a Hindu is like saying he is Indian and Indian or Hindu and Hindu.
Both the same thing "Indian" without an "H" and "Hindu" with an "H".
And again both are wrong deductions of Sindh!
"India" and "Hinduism" is a British invention.

Indians/Black people don't have a real name and identity.

Why is every post you make related to how black Indians are? Have you got some kind of inferiority complex?
