Ertugrul and Pakistanis Identity Crisis

They were accused of being leftists by ' patriotic' Pakistanis. What's your thought on him?
Rajah Dahir needs to be 'owned' amongst others. Rajah Dahir had more impact on history of Pakistan then Tipu Sultan, Salaudin compared. Of Bin Qasim also should be 'owned' despite being from abroad because he did change the destiny of history in our part of the world.

it's the skin color Puli Saab. melanin politics

it's not that hard to miss.

but this government did talk of Ranjit Singh so credit where credit goes and that would be pigmentation

Tipu had dark skin.

If Pakistanis eat pizza no one has an issue. If they wear jeans all good. But the minute they enjoy a serial that is so popular americans r binge watching it on netflix we have an issue with our identity. Lakh di lanat on these liberal scumbags.

In reality what most of these critics don't like is either their own business value dropping or they simply don't approve Islam. Test this theory by searching for social media profiles of these critics. In this day and age almost every person has a social media presence. Search for their social media accounts. Check their prior history and comments.

The Pakistani media is up in arms because they cannot produce quality content. Pak dramas are generally a farce. Other content doesn't compare to the Turkish serial. Hence a lot of noise and frustration.

No person can enforce their views on others. The Turkish serial is a hit because it is quality content. Plain and simple.

Well said!

The only person dealing with an identity crisis are libtards, commies and anti-state separatists who don't even have a country to call home. It is pathetic how a handful of stateless cowards lecture the majority on how they should lead their lives. Frustrated beings.

That is very true but then the English don't flog their cuisine as French or Italian.

I wonder though if that's a problem with overseas Pakistanis? I know exactly what you're getting at though and I begrudginly agree. Nothing is fixed by pretending it's not a problem.

we are Pakistani we are the people of indus valley civilization
People of the erstwhile Indus Valley Civilization were annihilated by natural calamities and "foreign" invasions by self-proclaimed "sons of soil"

And people with deep identity crisis. We had here a half scandinavian and half Pakistani for ages blathering on and on about "Indus valley civilization". Never been to Pakistan and grown up gora, found an identity crisis and started making up some connection that doesn't even exist. How many times has he been banned and comes back with another handle?

There is a tacit contradiction here and there. Historical plays aside, Turkish plays and modern Turkish culture is very liberal. It suits the western-oriented liberals in Pakistan and they would welcome prevailing Turkish culture with open arms. As for the historical culture, if these plays have not yet been able to revive it in Turkey I am uncertain as to how they'll promote it in Pakistan.

Pakistani TV channels also welcome/prefer Turkish and other foreign TV plays. They prefer ready-made material as their purchase is generally less costly compared to local productions. This I have confirmed this from the lion's mouth. Also, as coronavirus impedes local productions many channels might scramble to get as many Turkish plays as possible. It might be a blessing in disguise for them.

A lost character in the history of Sindh (and Multan) and by that virtue of Pakistan is of Jaisiah aka Jai Singh (Dahir's son).

Bin Qasim can be owned as part of local history but never as a local.

Turkey was epicenter of Islamic Civilization for 400-700 years
  • It was center for strategic planning
  • It was center for Music
  • It was center for Architecture and Construction
  • It was center for Military and strategic planning
  • Turkish Civilization was home to various languages including Arabic Infact Arabic text was used prominently till end of empire
  • Beautiful construction
  • Amazing Navy
  • Amazing Military
  • Amazing Food , just fantastic

It is natural to fall in love with such rich history at epic height of Islamic Empire
There were heroic battles , conquests and adventure

To Neglect that heritage would be strange because Turkish people are part of Islamic history

People love brave warriors and defenders of their cities :coffee:

Similarly in Pakistan there is ample interest in Arabic civilization without context of the dynasties.

Pakistani History did not start just on 1947 there were people to people ties and connections going beyond 1000 years, I think too much focus is spent on the last 100-200 years during which muslims lived under occupation however if we look beyond the history is rich with Brave conquest and battles which were won convincingly

For last 300 years , the none Muslim actors have been focused on the divide and seperate nations based on language , for that strategy it is important people of Pakistan and Turkey to not align their interest and see themselves differently that has been the popular game

I actually watched mehmud serial documentary on Netflix and it was pretty good. On his invasion of Constantinople and calling himself Caesar.
I think the problem comes when a Prime Minister of Pakistan promotes a Turkish identity series over a one who was the son of the soil. But sadly Pakistan do not have much son of the soil heroes among Muslims, nor even tragic ones, to look forward to.
We do have local heroes for example abdullah bhatti who fought the mughals and many men in his family did too they were eventually hung by the mughals. The problem is the natives of this country have never really had a say in the current narrative of our country's history. The foreign invaders like ghaznavi, babur, khiliji etc are held up as muslim heroes even though they killed and looted the place, ransacked places of worship etc.

Until the natives get to write their own history nothing will change for that to happen the education and literacy rate will have to go up first.
