Erdogan calls Islamic summit next week on Jerusalem

I never eaten locust. But, as far as I know, locust eating is hallal. Is that kosher also?

Yes, pretty sure it's allowed.

My Grandmother was very poor as a child, so Locust was a free treat!

There is a very infantile side to Islam. I remember how they claimed victory in Lebanon whilst standing in the ashes of Beirut. I'm like...err look at your flattened city. That's not a victory

But they need to create fairytales because Islam was once a great empire and now it's nothing. This hurts their pride.
Unless they brush off this pride and see the reality, things won't change for them.
TBH Israel/Israelis have some weird inferiority complex as well. Why America's recognition so important to them? Or when someone questions Israels right to existence why they get so worked up to prove it? Shouln't the response be "Jerusalem is our capital. Whether you accept it or not doesn't make any change. It is our capital and we control it". When someone questions Israel's right to exist why try to prove with so many words or references? Shouldn't the response be like "Israel is there. Blow it up if you have the balls"

Agreed, but it's all to do with history of persecution. Sometimes called a persecution complex. To be stateless for centuries/millennia and praying for the return to their homeland which is incorporated in prayers such as on Passover they toast and say "next year, in Jerusalem". This was said all throughout the time in exile.

To finally get their homeland back and be recognised is a big deal. Many people, especially Europeans have a deep-seated disdain even on a subconscious level of the idea of Jews being strong, having a strong powerful country and being totally sovereign.

The European vision of Jews is weak nomads without a home who get persecuted and moved from place to place. This is the Jews the Europeans recognise, not the military strong, independent Jews.

That's why official recognition from the most powerful country is important.

Locust? Apparently it was/is eaten as a delicacy by Bedouins in Najd. Probably the only place in KSA where this was ever eaten. Apparently it is very healthy and tasty. It's eaten on almost every continent or used to be until not long ago. Not sure that it has anything to do with poverty necessarily. More a source of protein or a delicacy that might once have been used out of necessity during bad harvests.

Chinese tend to eat the most outrageous foods even in this day and age and most of them are not starving to put it mildly. Any longer that is.

Food is food though. What others consider "outrageous" many consider a delicacy. Just visit a gourmet restaurant in Paris and order some French delicacies such as frogs, snails, horse meat etc.

Pakistanis are religious people man. Don't mess with their feelings.
I recall that in college an Indian Muslim student claimed that disturbing facts didn't matter if you could keep Muslims from knowing or discussing them: as long as Muslims feel their actions are "holy" then they will go to Paradise, whether what what they do is just or not.

He illustrated this difference as a contrast from Western (or Jewish) thinking, where it is important to discover the truth first before passing judgment.

He was a premed student, not a very nice one, given to vandalizing school property when he thought no one was looking. I always thought he was the type to spike your unknown in chem lab if you didn't watch out. I don't know how representative he was of Indian Muslims.

That's just being Indian. Religion has little to do with his antics.

People in India use religion as a coping mechanism to keep the status quo. Muzzies maybe we even worse.

But that's just India. Backstabbing and selfishness is like a national bond

Pakistan and Malaysia both have confirmed to attend OIC meeting

Malaysia to attend OIC meet and stand by Muslim brothers against US' Jerusalem move

By ROSLI ZAKARIA
December 9, 2017 @ 7:36pm

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will meet with leaders of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) nations on the rejection of Muslim nations of the United States announcement to make Jerusalem the capital of Israel.

Getting the support from all delegates, especially the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings, Najib said Malaysia could not accept the pressure placed on its Muslim brothers in whatever situation.

"How can we accept the humiliation on one of three holiest sites for Islam. We will fight until the end," he said in his closing remarks at the Umno general assembly.

Najib has cancelled a meeting with his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong to attend the OIC special meeting in Istanbul on the invitation of Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul, Turkey.

The meeting is scheduled next Wednesday

"Mr Erdogan said Malaysia's voice is important. I had to cancel a consultative meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

"I have informed him ( Lee) that the OIC meeting is about a matter which affects my faith as a Muslim and the faith if all Muslims."

Later at Press conference, Najib said Malaysia-US ties are multi-dimensional, but Malaysia would not budge from its stand against the handing over of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

"We can work with (US) on other aspects, but in this matter (Jerusalem), we remain with our principle. It is something unacceptable, and against the rule sovereignty as decided (in the region) by United Nations Security Council.

"The issue will lead to difficulties in holding discussions pertaining to the two-state resolution. Severe tension will mount and possibly blood will be spilt.

"I understand that even the Christians are not at ease with the current development. The European countries and non-Muslim countries are of similar sentiments."

Najib also said the US Ambassador to Malaysia would be officially informed by Wisma Putra on Malaysia's stand.

He, however, denied that military measure would be in place as of now.

"We are now using diplomacy and negotiation channels."

At the Umno general assembly, Najib also commended Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin for organising a succesful rally which unites Malaysians from all walks of life and political divide in front of the Tabung Haji building after Friday prayer to protest against the US move.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Malaysia would continue to speak up on behalf of the people of Palestine.

He added that Najib would also carry the voice of Umno in fighting for the Palestinian cause.

"We have been consistent in upholding the rights of the Palestinians, similar to our stand when speaking against the atrocity on the Rohingya Muslim community in Myanmar," he said.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said US' recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital was a "huge slap" to the Muslim world.

"The Armed Forces is standing by for any eventuality concerning the ongoing Jerusalem controversy," he said.

Puteri chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the move by US president Donald Trump was like firing a missile to the holy city.

"Let us pressure Trump to revoke his action before a huge conflict starts," she said.

Muslim world is split now, they can't do anything in essence to counter Israel. Very inadvisable move by President Trump. I think he does it for his son in law, who is a Jew.

.
Declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was a wrong move by Trump obviously.
