You are wrong, Hindi & English are National Language and also in the list of 22 Official Language of India...........Bangla is one of them......we have many things is common......Our respective countries National Anthem is poems of Same poet

There is Nothing called National Language of India.
South Indians refused to accept Hindi as a national language and nobody wants English as a National Language.

He can represent the whole subcontinent because his works reflect the society and mindset of the people in these region.But it is the very language he spoke wrote and read that we gave our lives for!We have given his language a true national identity!

That what i meant. He was a great poet .

And he wrote our national Anthem particularly describing it ( if read the wordings) so if u say that he cannot write anthem for india because its bengali then that is totally absurd

By birth Robindronath thakur was British Indian,by hereditary he is from now Bangladesh,Khulna.jorashako thakur Bari was built by his grandfather mainly to do business in Kolkata.Later the family moved to Kolkata,but kept the ancestral home.
 
My point is the official languages of the Republic of India are Hindi and English.The national anthem is in Bangla.And if you want to think about about Hindi and Bangla being related well they are related to German too.Face the facts you don't have a Hindi anthem.

(3) Notwithstanding anything in this article, Parliament may by law provide for the use, after the said period of fifteen years, of
(a) the English language, or
(b) the Devanagari form of numerals, for such purposes as may be specified in the law.
