Is the Left trying to keep it's Hindu vote safe & together to prevent poaching from the BJP?

You should not be surprised.
Irony dies a thousand deaths (over) each time Communists use god's name in Kerala.

Frankly, I think LDF doesn't have a good majority of ppl from other sects. The party was joined by mostly Hindus, who revolted against the upper caste.This is what I have observed.
In Kerala, there used to be a huge divide between upper and lower castes. Communism served as a respite to the lower castes.
Muslims and Chritisans still prefer Congress over LDF.
But this time, I heard, LDF managed to get a lot of minority votes as they were successful in projecting BJP as a polarising party, and congress as corrupt.

About Thomas Isaac and his policies I can't speak much 'coz I have never kept a track on him. He's a PhD in economics, and has been non-controversial(mostly). So it serves LDF well to place an experineced,educated and non controversial man at the helm of (financial) affairs.
