You are mistaking 'empires' for 'civilization'. Islam is rapidly spreading in Nigeria for example. Expansion - yes. Civilization? No.

Replace the word 'civilization' with 'empire' and you are right entirely.

Well, there were empires previously---but today, Islam is more of a civilization and not an empire.

For example, Turkey and Indonesia aren't part of some one empire ruled by one entity. However, they are part of same civilization (the Islamic Civilization) with their women following Islamic dress code (Hijab etc), their diet following similar codes and laws (Halal), both peoples/nations having same language of prayer (Arabic), and the day itself divided between five periods in both names starting from dawn till night ( five namaz). Hell, personal cleanliness codes are same/similar between Turks and Indonesians. Furthermore, social attitudes are very similar towards premarital sex, alcohol, marriage, issues of gay rights, and so on and forth.

So Turks and Indonesians---despite being completely different people with different history--have civilizational/cultural similarities to them because they are part of a same civilization but not same 'empire' (Similarly like how an American and German would have some similarities in terms of culture, worldview etc--because both are "Westerners" but they aren't part of one empire of some sort)...

Nothing is permanent. :disagree: Absolutely nothing is permanent.

Yes, but how unlikely it is to see Afghanistan/Pakistan reverting back to Buddhism/Hinduism, Europe becoming Islamic 100%, and Saudi Arabia becoming secular hedonistic hub of the world? It's not very likely. So the world we now know has a certain "consistency" to it, irrespective of all the changes happening all around us..
