In fact they lost two, à Rafale and Egyptian made training aircraft ..both pilots lost their lives.
Too many cooks spoil the broth...Egyptian Air Force is a hodge podge of so many different aircraft that it reminds of the indian air force. With F-16s (american), F-7s (Chinese), Mirage-2000s (french), F-4s (american), MiG-21s (Russian), Mirage-Vs (french), MiG-35s (Russian) and Rafales (french). That's eight types of fighters operated by EAF!!! Granted that most of the Mirage-2000s, as well as F-16s, and all of F-7s, Mirage-Vs, MiG-21s and F-4s shall be retired by 2020. That would still leave Egyptian Air Force with 4 types of fighters in its inventory which include the Block-50 Vipers and upgraded Mirage-2000s. They require a standardization process in training their fighter pilots. Otherwise the Egyptians might find themselves putting in follow-on orders for Rafales and MiG-35s a lot sooner than they intended.
WHAT AN IGNORANT ANSWER..They crashed a MiG-29M last year and now a Rafale. No wonder why Egypt air force was no match for Israel air force. RIP to the pilot.
There are a big difference.. Israel’s Pilots fly over 250 hrs per pilots/year hence losses for different reasons..Egyptian do not, the only aircraft They fly the most is the Mig 21 for their pilot training..and the shortcomings of lack of flying shows..WHAT AN IGNORANT ANSWER..
