My rank:

I'd put India behind Germany and Japan, maybe even Italy and Spain.

Dude, Italy and Spain are in no position to even defend themselves on their own right now............
Whatever stats may say, Italy and Spain's economies are in tatters. I know this cause my dad's an exporter.......
And as Disraeli said," There are lies, damned lies and statistics"........

In the event of war their industries i think will be more capable than India's

Doesn't GFP take only numbers into account?
What about training and other combat capabilities like tactics and overall strategy?

You can't very well take strategies into account can you?? I mean any country having a fixed strategy or tactics will lose the moment war starts. These things are the flexible elements of a nation's war making capability and though often the deciding factor, can't be judged before the battle takes place........

What I am trying to say man is that they are overburdened by debt, which statistically speaking may or may not be as high as India's but India has the capability to manage this debt.............Europeans don't. Right now the only thing that's pulling them along is Germany. The simply can't raise funds for any war, cause the debt that would have been used is already more than they can afford, and the worse thing is that the banks have grown extremely cautious after 2008-09. Getting a loan from the bank has become 10 times harder than before recession.....
Their industrial capacity is great, but you need money to utilise it, which they don't have...

You didn't understand my point.

Static strategies wasn't what I was referring to .
My concern was to consider tried and tested Armed Forces and not just numbers.

In this way Israel goes a bit higher up for a proven track record. It is currently at number 13, just above Egypt, whom it pummeled along with other countries.

Brazil is number 10 but haven't had a major conflict to prove that their strength is not just numbers.

This is why I don't consider GFP as the absolute ranking system.

Of course it isn't an absolute ranking system, but it might as well be the best possible ones. In no ranking system would Vietnam have fended off an invasion from USA, yet it did...............Real situation are extremely diverse and it is hard to predict what might happen. Nothing may go according to plans and predictions. That's why the best we can do is compare the numbers.............

Egypt has an impressive army, especially it's land force and air defense:

I would rank Egyptian land force and air defense as follows:

1- USA
2- Russia
3- China
4- Egypt

You can check and compare numbers and types:

Egyptian Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Equipment of the modern Egyptian Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Egyptian Air Defense Command - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

- But regarding the army as a whole, I would rank it 9th or 10th strongest army.

Egypt on 4th rank? In what world are you living?

I'd put India behind Germany and Japan, maybe even Italy and Spain.

Germany, Italy and Spain????

Dude we are not living in the 40s.

German army is a joke, they even need to contract Russian airlifters to get equipment to Afghanistan.

You managed to be a racist, an ignorant, a troll and a fool with only 1 post..Congratulations

Swedens minister of defence recently announce it has the capacity to defend a limited area of the country for one week. Confirmed by Swedens oberstbefehl. It's a weak military power.
He just wants more money ;) Sweden is one of very few countries in the world that produces own jets, armor vehicles, submarines.

Australia has too little army so it is not good to put them in high rank.:disagree:
They have a strong navy and air force, strong economy and they were good soldiers in all wars.

No. In the beginning of the war Jordan had 2 brigades, while Egypt had 2 strengthened brigades with tanks, and air force.

By the end of the war Jordan had 3 brigades while Egypt - 5 strengthened brigades, Iraq - 4 strengthened brigades and Syria 3 strengthened brigades.
Jordan's Arab Legion was considered the most effective Arab force. Armed, trained and commanded by British officers, this 8,000–12,000 strong force was organised in four infantry/mechanised regiments supported by some 40 artillery pieces and 75 armoured cars. Until January 1948, it was reinforced by the 3,000-strong Transjordan Frontier Force. As many as 48 British officers served in the Arab Legion. Glubb Pasha, the commander of the Legion, organized his forces into four brigades as follows:

Military Division Commander Rank Military Zone of operations
First Brigade, includes: 1st and 3rd regiments Desmond Goldie Colonel Nablus Military Zone
Second Brigade, includes: Fifth and Sixth Regiments Sam Sidney Arthur Cooke Brigadier Support force
Third Brigade, includes: Second and Fourth Regiments Teel Ashton Colonel Ramallah Military Zone
Fourth Brigade Ahmad Sudqi al-Jundi Colonel Support: Ramallah, Hebron, and Ramla
1948 Arab
Vice versa. Arabs got support from Britain. Brits trained armed and even commanded some troops. IAF seven shot down several British warplanes that were spying for Arabs.
Not true, they ordered Jordanian army to retreat but the soldiers refused, Britian was the country which created Israel, and Israel was far stronger in numbers and equipment than Arabs all together, nevertheless, Israel couldn't take over:.

220px-UN_Partition_Plan_For_Palestine_1947.png

Strength:
Israel: 29,677 initially rising to 117,500 by March 1949. This includes the entire military personnel count—both combat units and logistical units.

Egypt: 10,000 initially, rising to 20,000
Iraq: 3,000 initially, rising to 15,000–18,000
Syria: 2,500–5,000
Transjordan: 8,000–12,000
Lebanon: 1,000
Saudi Arabia: 800–1,200
Yemen: 300
Arab Liberation Army: 3,500–6,000.
Arabs initiated this conflict but were caught by surprise? By the way Jordan and Syria first attacked Israel.
You were saying that you fought 1956 war alone, so...
In 1973 Israel was attacked by suprise from two sides. Despite surpise factor and Arabs had about 2 times bigger force the war ended 30 km from Damascus and 100 km from Cairo.

Arabs air forces were no match to the Israeli one, Syria and Egypt rebuilt their air forces in 6 years after 1967 war, and that's why they depended on air defense systems, for instance F-4 Phantom is much stronger than Mig-21 and AA-2 Atol which is as unguided as an arrow vs Sparrow which Israel had.

Before babbling why don't you Google things? And this is not the issue, I already put links so I won't get people like you.

Again, how can any sane person say that Egypt has the 4th strongest military??????

Egypt stronger than India, France, UK.... all nations with strategic weapons, higher GDP... I dont know where to start with.

EPIC FACEPALM.
