There might be a war with Sudan within a few years over water nile if Sudan breaks 1959 agreement between both countries regarding sharing Nile waters .

Egypt will only go to war for water and is preparing for this moment if its allocated share of the nile is reduced by Sudan .

They always had a very strong and modern military. We were toying around with outdated F86 Sabers while Egyptians had swarms MiG-21 jets. Its no surprise that they've carried such strength into this century as well

basicly you can think of the suez cannal as something 10 times more valuable/profitable than CPEC

We'll have to see if they add the S-400 to the current systems Egypt already operates such as the S-300VM and the TOR M1 & M2 and others. A lot of these new acquisitions are tied into other procurement such as the new nuclear reactors and the deal that relieved Russia of the two French LHD's because of the levied sanctions on it. As a result of that, it opened the door to many more of these deals that included the 50 MiG-35's and the very sophisticated 400km range Prot-vnik GE HD low band surveillance radar. All these weapons systems are directly and indirectly tied to those other big deals. There will probably be a lot more coming in the next 5 years as many other projects and contracts are signed.
