agreed, but actually China has been reaching out two hands: hard and soft. anxious to wipe it out and meanwhile feeling under pressure of human rights when some ppl cry about repression of muslim in Xinjiang.
The way the chinese are dealing with Xinjiang is the correct way,i was watching something on al jazeera abut it.
The chinese govt has put massive investment in the area, health care, education, jobs and relaxed religious laws.
This has put the separatist/terrorist in a corner.
The best example i can think of is that of wales, the nationalist political party plaid cymru was trying to fight for independence from the UK.After a while the early stages of an violent struggle where seen when welsh militants started to burn and attack english owned property.
The british govt instead of trying to fight them started to teach the welsh language in schools and changed all the signs into welsh, gave them a tv channel, radio stations and newspapers in there language ect ect.
All the complaints they had where addressed and plaid cymru lost votes and now the welsh do not care and the british govt kept wales.
The people of Xinjiang where poor, this led to militants getting a foothold, once the issue is addressed they will fizzle out.
