Simple logical answer is, the PPP Government exported more at the expense of starving the Pakistani population. Inflation rates were touching the skies.

It is wrong. It is cruel and it is inhumane. You simply cannot starve your own people just to make the export figures look good.

Pakistani population expands by around 3.5 million people annually. The Government has duty to care for them. You can't just go around exporting as much as possible all that which is desperstely needed in the country.

The economy requires quite a high growth rate in order to save the population from starvation and also to export edible goods at the same time which is not possible at the moment. But what do people living in Bani Gala Palaces care?

Energy crisis did play a part in export decline but there were other factors at play too

Bangladesh,Vietnam all became wealthier by focusing on exports and job creation
High growth by taking on massive debt and spending on government vanity projects leads into Lebanon like traps where the state goes bankrupt the economy melts down
