it costs 125 million to convert an F/A-18F fighter into E/A-18 growler .....as the electronic warfare capabilities are provided by northrop grumman which were the manufacturer of prowlers ... the aircrafts come from boeing and later the electronic warfare equipment is fitted by nrothrop grumman ...so you have two contractors
Australia recently asked to convert its 12 F/A 18F aircrafts into growler at a cost of $ 1.5 billion, only the additional wiring is costing them $34 million per aircraft
Thats a hefty amount ...
considering that a F/A-18 E/F fly away cost is $67 million ...add to that the 125 million for converting it into growler ...then you have a bird that costs $192 million each
