Beijing, China: Pakistan's claims of shooting down an Indian "spy" drone along the Line of Control received a setback, with the Chinese official media today reporting that the
drone was made in China.
In an embarrassing disclosure for Pakistan, Chinese official media today reported that the "spy" drone Pakistani army shot down along the LoC and claimed it belonged to Indian security forces, was made in China.
Earlier, India too had maintained that the drone was not of Indian design, and appeared to be a Chinese design available off the shelf.
DJI is a Chinese technology company founded in 2006 by Frank Wang and headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The firm manufactures commercial and recreational unmanned aerial vehicles for aerial photography and videography, said the report.
Pakistan has alleged that the drone was being used for aerial photography near the LoC and was shot down in the Bhimber area of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. They claimed that the drone was brought down for violation of Pakistan's territorial integrity.
The People's Daily report confirming the Chinese identity of the drone comes as an embarrassment for the Pakistan military, considering the close and strategic ties between Islamabad and Beijing.

Well, it's amusing how Pakistan has been going to town making it such a huge issue by blaming India after shooting down their own drone! Or was it supposed to be a false flag op as an excuse to violate the ceasefire? Or was it an experiment to use these quadcopters for surveillance on the IB that went horribly wrong due to lack of coordination between different agencies? I guess the truth will be hard to come by as the ISPR is certainly not going to embarrass the Establishment by admitting to the goof-up!
