Tomahawk also uses INS.

CJ 10 has Variant which can be air launched ..namely CJ 10 K. Similarly Tomahawks has Variants ..which can be submarine launched or surface launched.

It is just a question of adding or deleting and extra booster in the tail of the missile, most SSM can be reconfigured for submarine launched or air launched operations.

Americans do not see a need for air launched variant of Tomahawk..hence they did not invest in it.

CJ 10 is already 15 to 20 years old..here is DF100, and something new will come up shortly after this.

Do you why, how many restrictions US has placed on Pakistan..to prevent leak of F 16 data from Pakistan.

A team of US personnel is constantly deployed on all Pakistani bases housing F16s ..365 days a year ..to prevent any unathourized access to F 16s.
A team, who' s salleries have to be paid for by Pakistanis themselves.
F 16s can not be flown outside Pakistan without US approval first.

It is all because these shady deals .. transferring American technology to the Chinese.

Update:

In today's test India's own engine called Small turbo fan engine (previously known as Manik engine) was used instead of Russian turbojet engine.

Using a turbofan engine instead of a turbojet engine, increases the range of the missle to 1500 Kms from present 1000 kms( this version using Russian turbojet has already been inducted on the LAC)

Once successful, this missile with Indian turbofan engine will no longer be called Nirbhay but a new missile all together..for now it is being called ITCM (Indigenous technology cruise missile).
