Dossiers on Indian sponsored terror in Pakistan handed over to UN: Sartaj Aziz

:crazy: People jumping too much on proofs which cannot be considered as proofs anywhere by anyone. Proofs have been submitted to UN so no need to discuss anything :D. That's the whole point in giving these dossiers. You gave these dossiers to Britain but in vain, feel free to distribute articles by a "credible author" from the west as proofs to every nation in the world. No one really cares~

Not surprising that you conveniently left out the working details. The "all outstanding issues" bit was a general statement but there was specific details about how the meetings would pan out. Let me quote that for you,

"
They also agreed on the following steps to be taken by the two sides:

1. A meeting in New Delhi between the two NSAs to discuss all issues connected to terrorism.

2. Early meetings of DG BSF and DG Pakistan Rangers followed by that of DGMOs.

3. Decision for release of fishermen in each other’s custody, along with their boats, within a period of 15 days.

4. Mechanism for facilitating religious tourism.

5. Both sides agreed to discuss ways and means to expedite the Mumbai case trial, including additional information like providing voice samples."

The bottom line is that Nawaz Sharif took the flak from the media (and perhaps Army) back home and decided to find an excuse behind "all outstanding issues" (which was again clearly not on agenda for that specific meeting) and Hurriyat.

the hurriyat meeting was going to be off the record meeting anyways. but even that india couldn't tolerate. Pakistan didn't ask for it to be on the record and part of the agenda.

So yes we thought all outstanding issues by default includes Kashmir as Kashmir is the main core issue everything else is preceded by it.

as for army giving flak that is purely an indian phobia and that we cannot divest for you.

That is typical Pakistani dishonesty on display. All outstanding issues can mean a whole host of issues ranging from trade, water, LOC to terrorism-- all of those would have found a place eventually if things went well. There was a reason why this meeting was between the NSAs and not foreign or commerce secretaries. They were not going to discuss water, trade and commerce. There was a clear, specific and non-ambiguous agenda for this meeting-- terrorism, which was agreed upon by both the PMs.

Let's not kid ourselves, shall we? Pakistan is probably the only democracy where the army chief addresses the nation. If you think PA would not have the power to influence foreign affairs, esp vis-a-vis India you must be joking.

terrorism itself then needs to be defined. to us what atrocities india carries out in Kashmir can be classified as terrorism.

However, all our NSA wished to do was meet hurriyat on the side lines of the NSA meeting. how is that harmful? and besides all outstanding issues cannot ignore kashmir. be it the NSA or foreign ministry level talks. but trying to set pre conditions by indian side lead to a break down of NSA level talks.

and for the near future or atleast modi's term i doubt we will see any change in the stance on either side.

our army chief never addressed the nation.

as isaid earlier this indian phobia that Pakistan army chief calls all the shots cannot be helped.

our army chief could not even get the PM to resign at the height of the political crisis last year that took place.

infact if you have spare time do read up on Nawaz Sharif firing Janghir Keramat the then COAS in october 1998.

So yes the only politican who fails to play ball with the sitting COAS is Nawaz Sharif.

However, i am sure indian fascination with the idea that Chief of the Army calls all the shots in Pakistan will never seize to end in the near future.
