Don't interfere, Bangladesh tells Pakistan after remark on Mir Quasem Ali hanging

WW2 was very different, straight after the war people were angry, and so they convicted many people fairly quickly, straight away. Others who were convicted of similar crimes and trialed long after the war were let off relatively easy in comparison (Jail sentences), as the allied nations were satisfied with the events of Nuremberg trials.

Bangladesh has been sitting on this for a long time, the anger is gone and a more humane solution should be put forward.

Human rights organizations like Amnesty international, and Human Rights Watch also pointed out that the trail was severely flawed, and that insufficient evidence was provided among other things. So tell me, how is this justice? How can a death sentence be handed out when a fair trial has not even been conducted?

I am just saying there is precedence for hanging old people accused of war crimes internationally (well past 70 or even 80 years of age)

Eichmann wasn't exactly a spring chicken when he was hanged either.

No the anger is not gone. Is there more jubilation or sorrow about these hangings in general BD public? Its mostly the former.

War criminals have to face the fate what these people are facing in Bangladesh ...but strangely in Pakistan no one talks about Hamidur Rehman comission .. no one ever blamed their army and politicians for the blunders in East Pakistan ????

They blame Muktibahini which was just 8-9 months old at the time of creation of Bangladesh ... and anti Muslim India for the creation of Bangladesh :)

Sholay is everyone all time fav. Well, little bit gangster movies, close to reality. ...Indian producer made lots of low budget successful movies like Satiya etc...but now..........

india has nothing to do with this.. india never demanded to kill them.. we dont care if these old fellas die or live... they pose zero threat to india...
its bd local political issues... they want to bite each others head off... thats their problem.. its convinent to blame india of course but bd politics is dirty....
its actually failure of pakistan govt to get people who supported their cause.. we promised safety of the pak troops.. they got away.. razakar also had chance if pak had cooperated with bd over years.(got biharis over to pak).
I think you missed my point. @Nilgiri kindly explain.

DHAKA: Bangladesh today summonedPakistan's envoy here to protest its "interference" in the country's internal affairs after Islamabad said it was "deeply saddened" by Jamaat leader and 1971 war criminal Mir Quasem Ali's execution.

Bangladesh Additional Foreign Secretary for Bilateral Affairs Qamrul Ahsan summoned Pakistani High Commissioner Samina Mehtab and protested against the reaction.

"The opinion that Pakistan gave over the execution of Mir Quasem Ali was entirely tantamount to interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs," Ahsan said after the meeting.

Pakistan reacted just an hour after the hanging of the 63-year-old media tycoon last night, the sixth Islamist to be executed for war crimes committed during the 1971 war.

Its Foreign Office said in a statement that Pakistan was "deeply saddened over the execution of the prominent leader... through a flawed judicial process."

Ahsan said he told the Pakistani envoy that Mir Quasem's trial "took place in a very transparent manner, in front of everybody."

"(Mir Quasem) had scopes to appeal against the judgment and he exhausted the scopes. The apex court thought he deserved the punishment what he was handed down as he took part in the genocides in 1971," Ahsan said as having told the envoy.

Officials said the meeting betwen the two senior diplomats lasted for 20 minutes.

"Nothing much to say," Mehtab told reporters after coming out of Ahsan's office.

Mir Quasem was the infamous pro-Pakistani Al-Badr militia's third most important figure. He was convicted of running Al-Badr's torture cell that killed several people.
If "interference" it is, then so be it.
By the way, what should we call, "Bangladesh supporting India's stand on Baluchistan?".

Haseena asked to be fingered, and we just obliged.

boo-fucking-hoo.

What is wrong is wrong.
It doesnt matter whether its internal or external.
It does. We will execute each one of them helped Pakistani Army during Liberation war 1971. The new generation of Bangladeshis should see this. What happens when you betray your own people and helped other to rape and kill. Your fate will be the same! Joy Bangla ;)
