Do Hindus in your locality rent houses to muslims?

My cousin bro ( we are brahmins from odisha and eat meat) had to lie in Rajasthan to get an accommodation. He is annoyed that he cannot eat meat. He loads himself with meat and fish when he comes to odisha. Meat eating is taboo in north India.

I once asked a muslim to rent his place to us (me and my mates), this happened in India. We knew bachelors especially college going ones (or of similar age) find it hard to get accommodation, but instead of replying 'no we dont give to bachelors' he said, I got grownup girls. To which I replied like a stupid 'we are not that type'.
He said everybody says that, and declined. I was a bit annoyed then.

That happens with Hindu families also.

The discrimination is more in case of veg vs non-veg, I believe rather than Hindu vs Muslim.

one of my mate in bangalore eats nonveg secretly(he is hindu), because he lives in some colony (I am guessing jain but it could be something similar). The landlord is a nosy bastard.
You got to close your doors and windows if you cook chicken/mutton... you can forget fish..

muslims usually give to hindus, it rarely happens the other way. Even if the landlord is happy(why should he care if he gets money), the neighbours(if they are hindus) will be angry on landlord and keep a grudge for giving house to a muslim.

On a personal note ; An elderly Muslim man aged 70 just passed away two days back

Discrimination is a bit harsh. If someone does not wish a certain kind of activity in their property, that's their call. If someone doesn't want smokers for instance, or those who play loud music, would you classify that as discrimination?

Smoking or playing loud music at odd hours is individual demerit.

Go to Gautam Nagar in South Delhi and you will find many Muslim students renting from baniyas.

Off course any landlord will happy to rent out the apartment to any XYZ guys irrespective of his religion or background especially when the agreement is for 3 yrs (2 yrs lock in) & rental income is around 4L INR per month
