Do Hindus in your locality rent houses to muslims?

Vegetarian hindus don't give houses on rent to non vegetarians be it hindus or muslims.

I had a tough time finding a house in North Karnataka..... the moment you tell them that ur a mallu, they say sorry..m.

I once asked a muslim to rent his place to us (me and my mates), this happened in India. We knew bachelors especially college going ones (or of similar age) find it hard to get accommodation, but instead of replying 'no we dont give to bachelors' he said, I got grownup girls. To which I replied like a stupid 'we are not that type'.
He said everybody says that, and declined. I was a bit annoyed then.
Don't think religion has got to do anything with this. I guess most families with girls won't rent their space to bachelors in our country.

Eating habits are a matter of individual choice, just as smoking/drinking/playing loud music are.

To some extent personal choice too, but mostly it is community, race driven. As for example a high percentage of people in Rajasthan are vegetarians, where as most of the Bengalis are non-vegetarians. Brahmins mostly avoid non-veg, Muslims on the other hand have no problem with non-veg.

many vegetarian hindus feel disgusted that muslims kill animals(in their home) and eat .. even a non vegetarian hindu will find it squeamish.
That and the idea that muslims generally pick fight with their neighbour, are the reasons usually given by hindus.

Seems here you are talking about sacrifices made during Eid.

But i do know hindus who even make sacrifices while putting new foundation for building houses.

True, which is I only termed your use of discrimination a 'bit harsh'. However, eating habits are no where comparable to religion and certainly not race/ethnicity. Particularly, among educated classes as people tend to do what they wish irrespective of background.

I just don't consider this discrimination, which has serious connotations. People should have every right to determine what goes on in their property, particularly houses.

It has everything to do with habits/orthodox nature, their is no such issues in NCR area here ,with large no of IT companies present and migration from everywhere ,no one has time to care.

But muslims will mostly rent their houses to hindus. In cities like chennai, hindus rented houses to muslims.

When i was in pune, we searched room for one of our frnd, he is a Kashmiri pandit. Where ever we went to ask for a room, he introduced himself like this, "hi... I am akshay, Kashmiri pandit" myself and my frnd were laughing saying what this guy is doing. Still it suprises me, why he introduced himself as a pandit without any reason. For pandits, people will rent house easily in northern india?

Funny to answer, but here are some of my experiences in regard to prime questions that I was asked when i went out to rent a place in following cities

1. Chennai:- Are you vegetarian? (the owner was some tamil brahmin I guess)
2. Noida :- Do you work in BPO ?
3. Ahmadabad : Do you drink? You will have to pay rent in advance.
4. Guwahati (Assam): What do you do to earn?
5. Goa:- How much will you pay? No further questions :D
6. Bangalore:- Which company?
7. Manipal (Udupi) :- Which course? Engineering or Doctarate?
8. Hyderabad: - How many will stay with you?
9. Jaipur: - Are you married?
10. Kullu: Do you Israeli or foreigner friends?

Interestingly no one asked religion :)
