Did Prophet Muhammad Warn Us of ISIS?

True. He was not a fortune teller. But he did indeed point out in ahadeeth in a fair bit of detail the events that would befall the muslims and especially the arabs. He did foretell about the barefoot bedouin competing with each other in buolding the tallest buildings. He did say that music would come out of walls. And fahesha would be common, usuary would be commonand there would be much killing on the earth. The killer would not know why he has killed and the killed would not know why he has been killed. He also said time would shrink and the year would feel like a month,a month like a week and a week like a day. And he said that the slave would give birth to her mistress. And indeed he foretold of the events as has been pointed out in the earlier post.
The only problem is there is no record of the sequence of events. Yes he was not a soothsayer but he was a warner and just like his message was for all time, so is the warning. To believe it or not is upto you.
ISIS is anything but islamic as are the taliban of Pakistan. Their purpose is to wreak havoc and fearmongering by senselessly killing people and even burning them which is absolutely haram in isĺam.

Of course religion exists and is important for humankind. But there is simply no way to claim anything in religion being "wrong" or "right", since religions are sets of personal belief systems. The trouble only starts with one side trying to judge another. As long as that is not done, all of religion is perfectly fine.
I am not terming religion as wrong or right :) but bahi,, need to run now,, will get back to it some other time. Also i guess we both know where this discussion will take us, have done it two three times in a couple of days, but, the experience have always been a good one. At least we can respect what the other is saying whether we are accepting it as right or not.

Thanks for taking the pain to explain it to somebody as dilettante as me.
I wish religious discussion was allowed on the forum in a section like senior's cafe where the chances of trolling are close to zilch. Many a times I 've been all agog about certain religious topics and wanted to discuss it with some of my friends on the forum, but could not. Just telling you my helplessness. :)

You are most welcome to contact with me,anytime.:)
For Christianity @Nihonjin1051 would be excellent to discuss!

Since, I am not an expert, therefore I would suggest you to visit mosque, synagogue or church to study religion of your choice.:)

I am only too happy to reciprocate, and look forward to the rest of this, and other, discussions.

This post should start as "It is true that Muslims believe that .........

I did not project him as a fortune teller.
The part of the article which says he could foresee .....

Yes Levina Ji, I could see that.

But expecting or believing that someone will "foresee" or "foretell" something to occur 1400 years later?

Nah!

Tell you what. Just to give you a perspective. We now are in 2015 AD.

Find me someone, anyone, who can "foresee" specific items in 3415AD.

Just imagine. Just think about the year of lord Three Thousand Four Hundred and Fifteen AD.

This is why I don't expect a person like you to fall for such blabbering.

Thank you.

P.s. I can foretell that if you drink dirty water, you'll have upset stomach. Duh! that is valid for another billion years at least. But then it is not foretelling or foreseeing. That is just a fact such as Sun rises from East.

The one who created the system knows what are its flaws and how it can be destroyed it. This is what the prophet told !

But HE DID NoT create the system.

He was just a man not God Nauzbillah.

More a lure of life they THINK to be unadulterated Islam, which off course is not the case.
What is new about ISIS, the thing we have not seen in Talibians or AQ is that they are getting support from all over the world, people of all different nationalities different cultural back grounds, i am not so sure what is making such a huge number of people all from different backgrounds believe in same on lie? as of now, i wont say it is the TRUTH maybe, i don't think so but then again, what is it to believe is a lie if it is a lie.
A problem we face with such groups, it is much more harder to choke there recruitment and supplies, unlike Taliban we don't have some specific groups who will fund ISIS who we can stop from doing so. The is making a mess of ME and Arab world, while all the world is crying and chanting about ISIS, it is the ME and Arabs who are suffering on ground.

They attract losers from all over the world because they get 24 hour coverage by CNN and BBC. Did Taliban and Al-Qaeda get similar marketing? Their cruelties are highlighted to create fear in the masses, which is what attracts evil people from all over the world to it. There's nothing evil men want more than others fearing them, hence they flock to this dangerous group.

@nair .. I am guessing its just your belief... right? sorry for picking on you, but you have repeated it many times in other threads.
Yes it is my belief.... This belief is based on what ever i read or what ever learnt in my life....... Do you have anything to prove me wrong????

Every religion is based on belief right?

I could not reply your post earlier as i was browsing from my phone and not in a position to post from my phone......

I think you are forgetting the fact that life has a cycle, they say that a rainbow appears after a storm, so also after every good phase there's a bad phase not just for a human but for the entire human race; Prophet Muhammad was predicting the rise of a negative force, like the way it has been predicted in Geeta, Bible and other religious texts.
It's a part of the cycle!!!

This is why I don't expect a person like you to fall for such blabbering.
Blabbering??
It's not blabbering or a prediction.
You see it's not a typical "prediction"....but a universal fact.

What should it matter to you or anyone what I believe? To you, your religion, to me, mine. I wonder who said that? He must be very wise indeed. ;)
Off course.

yeap.

But someone attributes a fortune telling cookie to Prophet pbuh, I should politely point out. That's all.
