Did Kerry snub Islamabad?

imo US should have made sure Kerry visits islamabad for at least an hour. the old leadership is gone and the new leadership is here, which is trying hard to mend its old ways. at least for symbolism, he should have landed in islamabad.
like the indians, pakistanis are also very gullible to the "oh !!! thou art sooooo important" rhetorics, they also need some "pats" on the "backs" once in a while.
in short, myopic step by US admin.

There has to be a reason why Kerry snubbed Islamabad - It could be because the US - Taliban talks haven't gone as per plan, or as some Pakistani members here seem to be suggesting that there is a tussle for power between Kayani and Nawaz sharif and Kyani is engaging in backdoor diplomacy and snubbing his nose to the Nawaz Sharif led Government.

There is an important lesson for India here, Pakistan and Indian Govt are looking forward to talks on various issues - they should ditch it and start backdoor dealings with Kayani. Indo Pak talks are anyway a waste of time and money and that to with a lame government at the center.

Discuss Afghanistan with Indian leadership lol btw India and Afghanistan 500+ - 700 kilometer distance hahahhahah whata ****** logic !

hahaha, you are talking of geographical boundaries which doesn't matter international relations, rather think of political and diplomatic boundaries - India is much closer to the Afghan Government than Pakistan in that respect.

Pakistan is much closer to the people of Afghanistan the people who rule 80% of Afghanistan known as TALIBAN and also host half of Afghaniz in Pakistan than India in that respect :omghaha:

Becharaa India. try your best, but you will still come second.

I guess The Pak Army and government would decide what to do in Afghanistan without involving the Americans. I guess it can be a blessing in disguise.

If a person were to say that India borders Afganistan, you would think that person is retarded, but apparently, that is what the official possession of India is, and this is the propaganda they preach to their children in schools. Their schools are a hub of retardification.

If India wants to have physical presence in Afghanistan, it would be by the blessing of Pakistan or China, and none those neighbours like India. Both, The northern alliance and the Afghan Taliban need Pakistan. Pakistan is a necessity for Afghanistan, to the point, the term Af-Pak is used to address them. You can not mention Afganistan, with out mentioning Pakistan.

India is essentially irrelevant to Afghanistan. But then again, since Indian school children are brained washed into being retarded enough to a have a perverted sense of geography, they think they border Afganistan some how. Which is far from reality.

Not at all necessary. You know what? America will go to your country to talk and will come to us for help. They need us in Afghanistan solution. So live happily with your dreams.
definitely.....it would be insane to think of that india is all that US would need to stabilize afghanistan. since pakistan is the immediate neighbour and has long standing cultural ties with afghanistan, its participation in the process becomes more important.
but what makes pakistan's participation more important becoz of two reasons mainly.....
* pakistan is the only way though which US can reach afghanistan
* pakistan was the country to heavily influence the state of affairs of afghanistan to lead it into the chaos its in today.
in short pakistan is the "obedient" cancer inflicting afghanistan.

and about "indian dreams", dont worry , they are as inconsequential and unimportant as the ones you have. so rest easy.

What a load of BS, The ANA is mortar firing your borders, also come up with proof of the 80% claim, as for hosting half of Afghanistan...
There are close to 40mill Pakistani Pushtuns and there a couple million or so Afghan refugees who are majority pustun and Afghan pushtun make about 30% of Afghan population.

Becharaa India. try your best, but you will still come second.

International diplomacy and geopolitics is not a race that people come first or second, and in present terms India is far ahead in the sweepstakes than Pakistan in both of that.

Your pathetic post is the sign of your frustration, but nothing can be done about that. As for all that BS you came up with - I guess you are talking about the map that India uses of Kashmir - The land held by Pakistan was acceded to India so in a sense you are holding on to our territory.

Good he is not coming to Pakistan, we are happy but the hindis.. well I am tired of their horse crap.

However, the real concern in Islamabad is that India may get the opportunity to train the Afghan security forces.
What 'may get the opportunity'? Afghan forces are already being trained in India as well as its Police force.

But, needless to say, India would not put boots on the ground in Afghanistan. After 2014 there would be a civil war of sorts and India would not like to get bogged down like Pakistan would, fighting various factions and warlords supported and used by contending nations as their proxies like Iran, USA, Russia, Pakistan, CAR, China etc. (and the Taliban), for a slice of the resources pie. This 'proxy war' would probably continue well into the next decade.

Where India is concerned, getting embroiled in this chaos would be a bad, bad idea.

Kashmir does not belong to India. The Kashmiris made it clear by shutting down Kashmir when the Indian PM went there. Kashmir is for Kashmiris, Indian army should go back to the sewerage where it came from.

Regardless, further discussion on this topic would derail the thread. Of course you wouldn't know what derailing is. Thus the notorious reputation of being the troll brigade.

It is extremely unfortunate to see some people buy into the façade of those who divulge in conspiracy theories, far fetched and mostly pessimistic speculations that are not based on facts. We need to not give satisfaction to those people who are bent on trying to undermine U.S. – PAK relations, by creating misunderstandings between the two countries. U.S. – PAK relations are improving with more and more coordination and cooperation and very recently U.S. Special Representative James Dobbins visited Pakistan as part of our continued dialogue with our Pakistani counterparts. Secretary of State John Kerry will be visiting Pakistan some time soon. State Department spokesperson Patrick Ventrell’s statement should put to rest far fetched biased snubbing speculations; “Secretary Kerry was not able to make it to Pakistan on this continuing trip to Asia. He very much wants to go there and spend enough time, have appropriate window of time to spend in Pakistan and looks forward to it.”

I once had the pleasure to sit and chat with a senior USAID official in Islamabad following the Quetta incident, and I still remember his words, the US never abandons its commitments and we have a large stake in Pakistani development an progress for regional stability. True to his words, the USAID projects in KPK and Baluchistan are still going strong. So for that I thank the US government and the generosity of its people.

Thank you
