Dera mayor polls: ECP disqualifies Ali Amin Gandapur brother

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified Umar Amin Gandapur, brother of Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, over violation of code of conduct. Thus, he will not be able to contest election for the Dera Ismail Khan mayor seat on 13 February as a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate.

The case was heard by a three-member commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner. The commission allowed Ali Amin Gandapur to go to Dera Ismail Khan for a family wedding. However, he was warned to strictly adhere to the code of conduct. The verdict said that Ali Amin Gandapur should ensure that he does not participate in the election process. “If Ali Amin Gandapur violated the election code of conduct again, he will face strict action,” the ECP warned.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Ahmed Karim Kundi apologized to the Election Commission for violating the code of conduct. His lawyer assured that he will take care again. The Election Commission also warned the government against the use of resources in the elections.

Commission reserves judgment in Ali Ahmed Karim Kundi case.

On 1 February, The chief election commissioner on Monday disqualified Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for transport Shah Muhammad Wazir and his son Mamun ul-Rasheed for five years after they were found guilty of attacking polling stations in Bannu, Southern Pakhtunkhwa.

The judgment said that they were also provide guilty of snatching election material from polling staff during the local government elections on 18 December, 2021. The Election Commission has issued its judgement in case relating to the disruption of election process due to mob attacks on polling stations in Bakakhel Tehsil of Bannu district. The Election Commission has disqualified the provincial minister Shah Muhammad Wazir and his son for five years under Article-218 of the Election Act. The ECP has also de-notified Wazir after member KP assembly.

Why PTI behaving like this??

Seems PTI is the new PMLN, the party of thieves and goons.

Ask your PMLN election commissioner Sikandar Raja

Seems new election commissioner is the new political worker of PMLN

Ali Amin Gandapur provided a medical certificate that he is unable to respond ECP notice because he has COVID, but on the same day he was attending Jalsas for his brother where he was announcing development scheme ans thretening for life to his opponents.

Sikandar Raja was appointed by Imran Khan even his name was also suggested by PTI.

PTI government should take action against Zia-ur-Rehman, a brother of JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman,

The election commission sprang into action against violators of electoral codes in the DI Khan polls in recent weeks as it imposed a Rs50,000 fine on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) candidate Mohammad Kafeel Nizami. In addition, the ECP has also asked the provincial government to take disciplinary action against Zia-ur-Rehman, a brother of JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman and an officer of the provincial management service, for allegedly violating the code of conduct during the polls.

This is a Pakistan culture. That’s why we need strict laws with danda to implement them. We also need EVM to make elections process easier and faster.
