Notice, Hillary got boo-ed for "sort-of-defending" Pakistan.

Democrats are less hypocritical than Republicans. On the one hand Republicans say they are bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq, yet they are allied with countries like Pakistan that do not have pure democracy. Republicans turn a blind eye to Pakistan's development of nuclear capable missiles and reactors, but they say Iran and North Korea must be stopped from acquiring them at all costs.

Democrats demand results, they don't think in terms of what is good for America they function more on principles. I think democrats are naive. They want to impose pure democracy on every other country and they expect every other country to be Americas puppetts. They do not realize that they are hurting both their ally and their own interests. They are just too idealistic.

While I don't agree with Republicans on abortion, stem cell research, global warming, and many other issues, I still like them better. Republicans are Pakistan's friend. In the 2004 elections I was on G.W. Bush's side. Few US presidents have done as much for our country as that man has.

So the next time you want to ***** about how evil Bush is, think about how much he has done for Pakistan and be glad Kerry or Gore wasn't elected cause right now our country would be 10x worse economically.

You can't say democrats are less hypocritical than republicans without reviewing their entire history, and just basing it on current circumstances. They simply happen to be in opposition, if republicans were in the opposition and democrats were leading it would still be rather similar. but if we can review both parties policies towards pakistan since the creation, that would be very beneficial. i'll see what I can find. please everyone post any chronology of us - Pakistan relations here.

I did consider the entire history of US-Pakistan relations when making that observation. Who can forget how the Clinton administration treated Pakistan?

Let us see:

1947 - 1953 President: Truman (D) Relations with Pak: neutral/good
1953-1961 President: Eisenhower (R) Relations with Pak: good
1961-1963 President: Kennedy (D) Relations with Pak: good
1963-1969 President: Johnson (D) Relations with Pak: neutral
1969-1974 President: Nixon (R) Relations with Pak: neutral
1974-1977 President: Ford (R) Relations with Pak: neutral/good
1977-1981 President: Carter (D) Relations with Pak: neutral
1981-1989 President: Reagan (R) Relations with Pak: neutral/good
1989-1993 President: Bush (R) Relations with Pak: neutral
1993-2001 President: Clinton (D) Relations with Pak: bad
2001-2007 President Bush (R) Relations with Pak: good

The world has changed since the 80s and we should consider the moves by democrats and republicans in that context. Most Republicans now see Pakistan as an ally, while Democrats see it as a dangerous Islamic state which facilitates or dosen't do enough against terrorism.

Mitt Romney (presidential candidate) made fun of Obamas comment about Pakistan saying a 2 days ago Obama was saying he'd meet with Iran and North Korea and now he wants to bomb our ally (Pakistan) ?

So we all better hope for a Republican president in 2009 or we're screwed again.
