Democracy is a failed experiment

Yes bro, the last time I was in Shenzhen, I yelled out "**** the CCP!" and they descended on me with batons and walloped me on the forehead.

But then I went to see a movie and I felt awesome. :D
At least you are alive...Good for you.

LOL, couldn't you tell I was being sarcastic.

People say that kind of stuff all the time, even "below_freezing" here is openly calling the Chinese leadership "traitors" for sending their children to study in the US.

And another mainland member here, cross1994, regularly says "fu*k Hu Jintao".

So what? :P

Right...He is courageous where the Chinese government cannot reach him.

He lives in Wuhan, in mainland China.
Wow...This is amazing. I was talking about THIS forum. Not where he live. Can the government reach him here and ID him to his residence? So much for that 'high Chinese IQ'...

Have you never heard of IP addresses?

Even the moderators on this forum can (and often do) locate individual members who are causing problems. For example, a while back there was an Indian pretending to be a Pakistani member, so the moderators gave a print-out of his location, and banned him for false-flagging.

yep I call Deng Xiaoping a military dictator, Jiang Zemin (who is still alive and has influence) the most corrupt kleptocrat in the world and Xi Jinping the Vice President an american @ss licking traitor. So much for the suppression theory

I usually only say that about Jiang Zemin, the others are alright in my opinion. :P

I also posted this on Chinese websites too. In fact posts calling Xi Jinping a traitor and asking for an explanation of why his daughter is at harvard have been posted on People's Daily Forums  In fact People's Daily is probably more free than CNN in terms of what you can say.

As if we can take that seriously...

Yeah, that kind of stuff is common on Chinese forums.

People don't really like the Taizidang.

Let me try to get this correct...

The Chinese members here are too chickensh!t to cast those insults straight to your leaders' faces so you enter some anonymous Internet forums to cast those insults at nobody and that make China a 'robust democracy'?

When did the line between reality and fantasy blurred for you?

You yourself said that there were 90,000 protests in China every year. And millions of people DO travel to Beijing every year to petition the national government over issues like corrupt officials.

And if you check that Foreign Policy magazine link about the Dalian protests recently, you'll see that the government officials eventually did agree to the protestors demands.

I never claimed China was a "robust democracy" though, or even a democracy. China is a Socialist country with a market economy, this has been true for a long time.

With huge income inequality between rich and poor and with top 10% rich population holding more than 50% of the wealth you can not really be called a socialist state in my opinion.. As it happens in other places, rich people's interest is served well in China as well and the poor gets exploited. Sorry, but I think I need to get a new definition of Socialism from you to fit China into the picture..

It's just a name, not really an objective description.

The more academic description would be "state capitalism".

You have been reported for insulting forum members and trying to incite flaming. Please behave yourself.
