Delay in Construction of Six Indian Submarines

in manufacturing field, there are crutial elements to assure production efficiency
1. well trained labour (distant dream to India)
2. technological know-how and readiness (WIPO defines India is a factor driven primitive society)
3. efficient supply chain (they have to import almost every sub-systems even materials from foreign countries)
4. good governance (their work ethic and level corruption prevents that)

so project delays from India is inevitable, it fits in their culture and real capability

@ 1st bolded part> not true.

else how you can explain MDL and GRSW churning out dozens of warships, ISRO launching 60+ sats successfully,ATV being successful?

@ 2nd bolded part> again not true. we are able to produce most parts of MKIs in India(under license)

Most parts of Arjun,LCH,Dhruv etc. are developed and produced in India

4. good governance (their work ethic and level corruption prevents that)

but then why we see this news?

So the Indians have done it again!

It looks though that, even after years of hard lessons, our Indian friends still tend to under-estimate the complexity of making modern fighting machines and over-estimate their own, well, rather limited capabilites。This delay will be FAR MORE THAN 3 years。:azn:

13:51 GMT, September 2, 2012 The original delivery schedule of the first submarine to the Indian Navy was December 2012 and remaining submarines were to be delivered with a gap of one year each. Consequent to the approval of Government for revision in cost and delivery schedule in 2010, the delivery of the first submarine has been revised to June, 2015 and that of the last (6th) submarine to September, 2018.

The delay in construction of the submarines is attributable to initial teething problems in absorption of new technology, delay in augmentation of industrial infrastructure at M/s Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) and delay in procurement of some items by MDL due to their high cost as compared to the earlier indicated cost. Complexities of the issues involved have resulted in cost escalation.

Government constantly reviews the security environment and accordingly decides about induction of appropriate defence equipment / platforms including submarines and surface / air assets to ensure India's naval capabilities. The thrust areas for modernization include induction of frigates, destroyers, fast attack craft, submarines, surveillance aircraft, aircraft carrier, etc.

This information was given by Defence Minister Shri AK Antony in a written reply to Shri N. K. Singh in Rajya Sabha Aug. 30.

The first fighter ac landing on your Soviet aircraft carrier Varyag was scheduled for August 2012. Its
September 3 today, what happended to it?

You've been "developing" your stupid WS-10 engine since 1980s when will PLAAF accept this engine
into service??

You took 24 years to fly your WZ-10 chopper (project started 1979, first flight 2003), we got our LCH
in the sky in 4 years (project started 2006, first flight 2010). Has this WZ-10 been inducted in numbers yet?

All that china built so far is J-10 (with Israeli help), J-11 (with Russian design), and J-20 (with Russian
help ). Has anyone researched why nobody buys chinese jets except pakistan? even Myanmar prefers
Mig-29 over J-10. RIP Sr. Col. Xie Fengliang for riding that trash and dying.

again 'most parts'``but the important parts are not,
and it took you 10 years to build a half-finished destroyer says very well about your manufacture capability

1. well trained labour (distant dream to India)

Are you so ignorant to state that there is inavaliability of skilled labour in India.

2. technological know-how and readiness (WIPO defines India is a factor driven primitive society)

50 cent poont! nowehere the WIPO defines India is a factor driven primitive society

3. efficient supply chain (they have to import almost every sub-systems even materials from foreign countries)

Another 50 cent poont! Show proof that India has to import almost every sub-systems even materials from foreign countries for the above submairnes.

4. good governance (their work ethic and level corruption prevents that)

If corruption is an indicator , Chinese governance should be the biggest fail here

so project delays from India is inevitable, it fits in their culture and real capability

You above statements go perfectly fine with the ideals of CCP-zombie liar.

The ever-so-optimistic,or shall I say dreamy,Indians would be lucky to have the necessary facilities and machineries in place at the dockyard before 2015. 2015 will NOT be the year in which the 1st sub is inducted,it is likely the year when serious work starts on the 1st sub。Hell, for all we know about our Indian friends, the whole project might be cancelled or indefinitely postponed。

Here comes the Eastern Nostradamus wannabe

Check this self-contradictory CCP-zombie here.

He is mocking Indian people's optimisim and then at the same time making Indo-phobic predictions/wet dreams here

We also delivered 200 4.5 gen jets in last 10 years. Projects get delayed due to various reasons. Yet not all projects are delayed. I didn't expect a so-called "manufacturing giant" like china would take 25 years to build a combat copter., and that with hoardes of help pouring in from Western companies. You want "help" from Pratt & Whitney to convert a civilian engine to be useful enough for a military chopper?? That shows the standard of chinese ac.

I really laugh at your antics, you beg Western companies to "help" you build weapons to take on the West itself? In short, china thinks it can upturn the West by eating their leftovers  Now go and eat somemore of their banada peels and gain great military strength.:rofl:

I'm pretty sure the Americans will be test-flying their sixth-generation ac by the time you induct your fifth-gen one, which still lacks a supercruising engine and operational AESA radar. even freaking "4.5" gen jets like Rafale & Typhoon have AESA and supercruising engines right now.

How you celebrate festivals whenever an Indian project gets delayed only shows your level of insecurity. If a chinese project gets delayed, Americans hardly bother, its becoz a true superior need not jump around at the success (or lack of it) of an inferior. However a banana republic like china is different though.

If you indeed believe that you are telling the truth, you are a man of problematic mentality.

If you have tried hard and convinced yourself that the above mentioned are nothing but the truth, you are a man living in delusion. :azn:

2015 is not far away ,when india receives its first one , i ll create a thread on that and mention you first hope you dont run away that time , now i dont have a reply...........

true, neither of us can predict the future. But both of us are predicting when will India receive the first sub. My guess is 2018 as India usual have more than one major delay. Forgive me for been too pessimistic but I get this from the history of LCA and Arjun development. As this is the first time India is building its own subs, its not too far fetched to expect LCA or Arjun type of delays. So even if India can receive the first one by 2018, it would be a major achievement. Finally, I accept the 2018 projection instead of 2028 is because this sub is already developed by another country, all India has to do is absorb an existing technology and setup a duplicate dock to build the sub. But the "setup shop" part for an advance sub is already too much for India. Hence the expected delays.

. . .
Too see how shoddy India's armed forces are,one only needs to take a look at the latest report on DRDO。:azn:

Indians always live in the future tense。

GDP 2050
P 15A 2015
submarines 2020
Rafale 2025
etc etc

Are you so ignorant to state that there is inavaliability of skilled labour in India.:

yes those laughing stock projects like Arjun, INSAS, LCA, NU-sub, chrismas fireworks, 10 long years half-finish destroyer, sluggish infrastructure and even your best city Mumbai looks like made of mud all of these are not enough to prove that India does not have enough skilled labour?

50 cent poont! nowehere the WIPO defines India is a factor driven primitive society:

searching this WIPO file (WEF_GCR_Report_2011-12) on google and roll to page 204 and ready for the the delusion burst,,

Another 50 cent poont! Show proof that India has to import almost every sub-systems even materials from foreign countries for the above submairnes.:
lol, how about your 30 years long 3rd gen fighter project LCA? French design, Russian weapons, Isreali avionics and radar, Americans engine and FBW systems,

If corruption is an indicator , Chinese governance should be the biggest fail here

and the corrupted Chinese government at least gets the job done, feed, house, and educated the people, so that China becomes the talk of the world about success, and India on the other hand a rather amusing laughing stock

let them continue their wet dreams like that only for some more time.
it already know news that fabrication of first hull for scorpene is already completed and 2nd,3rd hulls are also in the fabrication process.
even the DCNS praised our work in finishing fabrication completely at MDl shipyard.
1st scorpene will be ready for sea trials by 2013
