We hve the options once frist jet ill ariive in, India would be surprised for sure wht pakistan will bring against it?
Probably Su35, cause we hve tht RAFEAL level in some of our planes but we need a larger range and a beast kinda of jet BVR which all ill come WITH SU 35 a
As India is going to receive the first batch of Rafales approximately a month from now, what are the counter options that Pakistan could have?

Specs and BVR options of the JFT-III are yet to come out so wondering if securing an Sqn strength of Block 70s with AIM-120D, somehow, would be enough to counter them.

Although, I highly believe in the quality of the training and competency as a team because otherwise sophisticated systems like Spider SAM or Spice 2000 could only bring down their on jets or destroy a handful Alpine trees in a remote area.

I personally believe that If 100s of SU-30s couldn't save them from embarrassment on 27th Feb, Rafales will neither. But still Its a real threat with its Meteors.

2023/24 looks a bit on the far side. Sanghis would try to operationally deploy Rafales by the end of 2021/22 and it doesn't matter if they have to lose 1 or 2 because of insufficient training or readiness. Post 27th Feb, PAF and AIM-120C are all over their minds.

its take time to integrate RAFALE and develop a tactics against us by IAF (3-4 year) then we have block-3 JF-17 and may be F-16 block 70, and to develop tactics against RAFALE we have few options, We may go for exercise with Egypt/ QATAR to develop tactics against RAFALE, like we did same thinks with China/Pakistan exercise (Pak shaheen) to develop a tactics against IAF MKI @AMRAAM

Rafale alone as such is not much worrying, the major worry is Meteor with it RAMJETs and pretty high NEZ it will be worrisome when deployed even against F-16s

yes, RAFALE and Meteor is deadly combination but also remember dude with Block-3 PL will come with PL-15, which has same NEZ and has longer range then Meteor @Tumba

The range for PL-15 is similar to the Meteor, but the stats on the NEZ are unknown at the moment.

We have all assumed Pakistan would get the PL-15, but has there been official confirmation that China will release it to Pakistan? It will equalise the Air to Air threat from the Rafale, and increase barrier that the IAF needs to overcome to go against the PAF over and beyond what the C5 offers. The PL-15 will neutralise the entire Su30MKI/Mirage/Mig29-35 fleet in one go from a technological gap perspective... PL-15 will be a game changer for PAF for sure if China releases it to PAF.

how many missiles an AWACS can guide? and is this efficient, also why dont mate an AWACS with tons of BVR missiles and use them frmo stand off point?

yes its mismatch but KJ-7V2 on JF-17 block-2 radar range is 135 km, i will assume this radar can guide PL-15 to at least 120 km @AMRAAM

I think ideally BVR missiles should be fired close to its NEZ, firing a missile from 120km will provide enemy fighter jet plenty of time to dive deploy counter measure etc., I say go low come as close as possible to enemy fighter then boom send a pair of BVR missile from 50-60 km and you have your kill 100%...

Yes you're right but enemy jet has also same opportunity and NEZ also depends on your BVR max range @Tumba

but if FIghters fly low and doesnt come in enemy radars and then climb and shoot and scoot from 50-60kms that should work right?
