I'm waiting for someone to claim that Pakistan's defence budget is 40% of the total budget/GDP or some such variation on the oft repeated claim....

But seriously, what would you like to discuss?

if it really is India would be quite delighted .Just joking anyway

In US$ terms the Pakistan Defence Budget is around 4.2Billion$, the 18Billion$ figure is totally wrong.
This year the Defense Budget is estimated to be around 343Billion rupees, which at current exchange rate of dollar comes to around 4.2Billion$.

Army will be getting 148B out of 343B, AF 80B & Navy 38B, around 50Billion has been set aside for the current operational expenditures being incurred in the War on Taliban. Whichever amount is left would be for other purposes.

By the way Debt Servicing will get 724 Billion Rupees, Non Development Expenditures 1.5Trillion Rupees, PSDP 621Billion Rupees & defence gets 343Billion.

So Defense Budget now gets the 4th position.

Looks like some over enthusiastic CNN-IBN reporter added a couple of zeros lol

1.48 Trillion is actual 148B Pakistani Rupees and so on. The DAWN article in the first post gives the correct figures whihc matches up with taimikhans' US$ figures
