Deception, Lies Behind Making of India’s Daughter

.
These guys who made this documentary may not be having legitimate interests, I agree. But the documentary shows out the sorry state of a part of our society which looks women as something inferior. The comments made by the rapist and the two lawyers are examples.

Also alarming is that, the pathetic speed at which the cases are being handled in India. All these are true, valid problems faced by India, and the documentary is right in bringing out it to public. Whether or not they made this documentary with a non genuine reason or not, the points they raise in the documentary are valid and must be addressed.

.
I suppose you've not watched the video.

We do have an issue of rape in our country, no denying that. But when it comes from BBC and other western media then I feel like showing them this.
Time for some introspection I suppose.

I think IB is digging the source and history of this film.
When I see the arguments of some so called liberals ,it is quite ridiculous.West and India there is a lot of difference between them. Some morons in here thinks that this is some extraordinary accomplishment.
Now you can see what happened to a poor Indian that tried for an admission in Leipzig University.
For west we are a second class humans and it always will be.
Those who try for an education in West now know its very well.

Our youths protested against this stupidity in our society ,our stupid mediad added masala in it.Its Ok.That is their right and they should that. But when they invite a foreign corporate and befriended with them this was bound to happen.
We dont need to go anywhere just lokk at the comment section of UK medias.

Ya right dude.NDTV dont have any technical or economical support for creating a documentary like this .Only BBC can do that. And results are already coming .Just look at what that German professor said about Indian males.
You can expect more of such episodes.

.
This is the first concept we should correct . Who are they to decide our image ?You know the propoganda stories of China,Iran,Russia etc in Western.medias.But none of these nation try to change that and they dont even care about it.
For correcting our issues we should shut the doors of Western medias in here and should give maximum support to our systems and medias .
When East India Company set their foot in India we had traitors in here that helped them for their own purpose. We still have that same elemrnt of traitors in here .Thistime it is through a virtual world.

I like the idea.

The western media is indeed here, for stories, not good ones but for bad, where they want their readers and viewers to go sympathetic on South Asia thereby proving and providing a false sense of how privileged and civilized they are.

Seeing how media business is run these days, I am in agreement with @SrNair....

What German professor did was something stupid and embarrassing for them. There will stereotypes anyway, and this documentary has enforced it further. But as long as we have as we have a issue, we cannot blame others while they point it out, even if their problems are bigger that ours.

I too was double minded at the issue bro, I too will blame the makers of the documentary for portraying a wrong picture about our country. The saying, "Those who sits on glass houses should not throw stones at others" comes to mind.

But,on a second look, the attitude of the rapists and the two lawyers are just pathetic and a good part of our society still carries that pathetic attitude. This documentary is a much needed spank in our butts. If you see what that rapist says, several of our men thinks the way the rapist does, "girl should not be outside, girl should not wear this etc etc". Yes, west also has the same issues, no doubt. Rape and female inequality is not a problem exclusive to India. But its there in India. How can we deny that? We can criticize the makers of the documentary for being oblivious towards the issue right under their nose, but is it fair to ban that documentary which speaks the true picture of our society? I don't think so.

Though I haven't seen that docu but must have highlighted that cursing male chauvinism in our society..... Its good to have mirror no matter how ugly the reflection is......
But OP has also brought the discrepancy in entire filming process inside tihar jail so we can't brush aside them too.... Gov must go by rule book not by sentiments sometimes.....

A mirror is one that shows you an image WITHOUT ANY DISTORTION.

A Distorting Mirror is one that shows you a distorted Image.

Be sure about which you buy when you go to the market, They may cost the same, but only one is good for you :coffee:

The documentary does not exactly highlight male chauvinism in our society bro, it contains the dialogue of the rapist, about which you must have heard before. What I found most shocking and disgusting is the comments of the two defence lawyers, who are the very definition of male chauvinism. And people like them are not less than common in our society.

The documentary also highlights the protests the general public has taken against the rape and the measures taken by the police in catching the criminals too. The documentary also points out to further issues like sexual deprivation, gender inequality, poverty, lack of education etc that shapes the minds of a rapist, these issue must be addressed if we need a permanent solution to the problem.

Yes, we have discrepancies in the filming of the documentary. Where we able to find and stop them during the filming? No! The filming took place right under our noses and we have failed to stop a foul play. But again, take it from someone who has seen the documentary, its a must watch and should not be banned.
