Death toll of Indian troops in Baramulla attack reaches 5
Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll of Indian forces’ personnel who came under attack during a two-day cordon and search operation in Baramulla district, has reached five.
The attack was launched on Monday morning when a joint team of Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force and Indian police was involved in the search operation in Kreeri area of the district. Four troops were killed and several others injured yesterday. One of the injured troops succumbed, today, raising the toll to 5.
Three youth have been martyred during the operation.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh claimed that the martyred youth were mujahideen who were killed during a gunfight with the troops. He said that a mujahid commander, Sajad Haider, is believed to among the martyrs. The troops destroyed, at least, one house in the operation.
Meanwhile, a Central Reserve Police Force man was injured in an attack on a CRPF camp at Nehama in Kulgam district. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched.
Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Chairman Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui in a statement while condemning the fresh spree crackdowns by Indian occupational forces in length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir hailed the sacrifices of the Kashmiri youth for the cause of freedom. He saluted the courage and determination of the brave sons of soil and extended his condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families.
