David Cameron: Britain Will Never Surrender The Falkland Islands

I dont think Argentina has the capability to fight a war with UK as of now. And UK is in no mood to surrender it.
So the stalemate will continue for many years.

Read the article again. This time it will be 3 to 1.

Not gonna help against the Eurofighter. JFT II will have a BVR boost, but not in maneuverability.

UK is carrier-less. How many Typhoons can they send to Argentina compared to the number of jets Argentines can wield just across a small portion of ocean? :)

Don't the Brits own other islands fairly nearby could they send them from there?

Damn right they don't. We would crush them.
It would not be that easy.

Just wanted to clear out the things a little. Sorry for bad english.

*First on the Islands, they where discovered by Magallanes on 1520, Magallanes was on the service of the spain king.
*On 1776 when the spanish goverment was created, the Malvinas where incluided in the Buenos Aires goverment territory, from that to 1810 Spain named several governants of the islands.
*On 1810 All Spanish assets and territory became our assets, just like England assets and territory became US in North America.
*On 1820 we sended a ship to take definitive possesion of the Islands.
*On 1825 England recognised Argentine Independece and they did not claimed the Islands (officially England gived up the islands here, as the Islands where marked as us).
*On 1833 England invaded the islands, removing our authorities there, on that same year our people there drive England out of the islands.
*On 1834 England sended two ships and retaked the islands, they apressed Riviero (the one who drive them back on 1933), but they decided to release him in Uruguay as they considered that his "crimes" where not on "the crown territory".
*On 1964 a little plane landed on Malvinas with Argentinian flag and asked the England governor to turn over the islands to Argentina.
*On 1965 a ONU resolution forced Arg and UK to start diplomatics talks.
*On 1966 Operation Condor a few Argentinian militants hijacked a plane and force it to land on Malvinas, and showed out several Argentinian flags.
*On 1982 we retake the Islands by force(i think is was a clear move by the military dictatorship to keep control for a little more time), the soldiers that where sended to Malvinas where under STRICT orders to no open fire on UK mens. (to me sounds strange, but its true). Thatcher also sought this as a good way to regain power and keep all of his people under control and sended a lot of his men to die here for a pair of islands that are not theirs.
The rest is a well known history.

Now, at this point, in Argentina, after all that happen here, everything related to "military" is seen as a "bad thing" by politicians, all of out govements, and specially K govements humilliate the military, they does not allow them to buy anything.

In the the 90 we attempted to iniciate a program to renovate the air force, we wanted to buy F-16 and F-18, EEUU answer no, probably because of UK presions, and they offer us a list of 3 aircrafts: F-4, A-4M and A-7, we decided for the A-4M because it was a well know aircraft, but the condition was it has to be equipped with F-18 and F-16 avionics and the A-4AR was born, our A-4AR are well equiped, not the best, but well equiped, the problem is they have no armament, AIM-9M and Dardos-2 (our local designed GPS bomb) are they only weapons, and at this point there are maybe 8 or 9 are in a operational state, the others i have no idea in what condition they are.
The A-4AR was the first step in a program to incluides reemplacing all our fighters for F-16, that was cancelled.
And thats it, the Mirages cant be put intro a conflict, they fly just to keep pilots flying.

On the begining of this year, EEUU offer us 24 F-18C fully armed with a few C-130 for the symbolic price of about $500 millon usd, it was turned down in matter of hours.

None of our submarines are operative at this point, but our SUEs are behind updated to SEM-4 as we speak, that was the only good news in years, really. We have several AM-39, those those AM-39 where upgraded locally so their capabilities are unknown, also our P-3 Orions where equipped with AM-39 too.

Anyway, the point is, we cant take the islands back, everyone knowns that, but in UK there are people trying to create fear just to ensure the founds for carriers and F-35s.

Also we dont want to take the islands back by force either, if we do this matter will never end, but i cant trust in anything that UK say either, several persons here thinks that the real reason for UK not to turning the islands back to us is that they want to invade South America(or/and take over the Antartida) sonner or later.

Maggie Thatcher said Bratian will never surrender HongKong,so what? She peed on her pants after the famous discussion with Deng xiao ping and surrendered Hongkong. The sun-never-set Empire had gone fade away......

Never say never.

Sooner or later, Malvinas will be back to the hand of its destined owner: Argentina.

David Cameron: Britain Will Never Surrender Sovereignty Of The Falkland Islands -- The Telegraph

David Cameron today pledged Britain would never surrender sovereignty of the Falklands against the wishes of the islanders.

In his Christmas message to the islands, the Prime Minister said he could not accept challenges by Argentina to their right to self-determination.

He condemned what he described as ''unjustified and counterproductive'' efforts by the government in Buenos Aires to disrupt shipping links to the islands.

His intervention comes after Argentina led a group of South American nations in banning ships flying the Falklands flag from docking at their ports.

We China support you to reclaim Malvinas from the evil britain empire. Well, we will be happy to sell you some J11 or later hardware, e.g. missiles, ships and etc. Aren't those Europeans still have an military embargo on China???

Sooner or later, u.k. won't even have scotland or wales, let alone for Malvinas. Sooner or later, the whole world would reclaim all the stuff stolen and currently stored at british museum.

Enjoy the sunset while you can since u.k. will enjoy a long cold reality.

Damn right they don't. We would crush them.

UK should turn back Folkland to Agentina ASAP. Btw, what is the Spain political standing of Soverign of Falkland? We could play Folkland Card when Britain interfere our domestic affairs, we'd like to provide bomber fighter to Agentina if she request.
