Dassault Mirage IIIS airshow in the mountains of Switzerland

.
Those fixed canards look awesome on these Jets. Swiss used to have quite fun with these jets over Alps.
Here are my favorite Swiss Mirage III music videos

.
never seen any vids of paf pilots flying mirages so dangerously .

.
I didnt know Mirage 3 had canards, when did that happen ?

The Swiss Air Force had modified their Mirage IIIs to the Mirage IIIS. That included the addition of canards.

I dont think Swiss Air Force using these birds on active duty so they are only keeping them for aerobatics and air shows. PAF jets are combat planes. PAF knows the value of the fighters as they are frontline defence against any Indian misadventure. PAF ROSE Mirages are painstakingly upgraded at great cost to national exchequer. I dont think PAF will fly them so dangerously unless the MISSION so demands.

But that will make a stable designed plane unstable. Without fly-by-wire it will be very difficult to control.

Yes they have retired those Mirage IIIS jets.

And no, it is not that much of a significant change that requires an FBW system. The base aircraft itself is very stable, and comprehensive trade studies were conducted in which slight changes to the airframe were incorporated.....in simple terms, they improved the original Mirage III.

some of the vids of the swiss mirages are old when they were operational in the force. i watched some more then a decade ago. most of the vids of paf mirages show only straight high speed passes, pulling up with launching flares. saw a pakistani mirage doing one aileron roll in one very old vid. we have to give the credit to swiss pilots where it is due.

We must give credit to swiss pilots where it is due. But we must not undermine our own pilots at the same time. Swiss pilots are novices in front of PAF pilots. If we are not pushing our old mirages to the limit its not because we cannot do stunts. Its because we are preserving their engines and air frames for the rainy day. If swiss had rag-tag resources like ours and a 6 times strong enemy in the East and full might of NATO in the West they would forget to roll their mirages.
