Education and urbanization seems to be the solution. British also had this 'Class System' but it was broken down during the Industrial Revolution.

And it has been in practice for more than 1000 years now. It will take some time. And 64 years is too little to eradicate such evil parctices.

Just to put that time into perspective, in most indian families, the grandparents take decisions. Most of our grandparents are from the fresh post independence days. They will decide if you are going to marry a girl from some other castes etc... it is only through education of subsequent generations, we will slowly tackle it.

I am early - twenties. I am sure by the time I close my eyes, I will see my country free from this evil.
