The repeated vicious attacks on a peaceful old man just go to show how insecure China is about Tibet and how desperate they are to maintain the fabrication that it is part of China rather than a conquered country.

Tibet is a conquered country. Conquered in the 17th century, around the time the British started colonizing North America. China is a major power and we're entitled to conquer. Get used it. Don't mess with us if you want to live.

By the end of the 17th century, China was at its greatest height of power since the Ming Dynasty.

That and the innate fear of that China will someday invade them. That's why they work so hard trying to separate Tibet away from China so that a buffer zone can be created. Yet their government takes the high ground and claims to protect Tibetans' human rights.
