Khan Bahadur (KB) wants nothing to do with IK/PTI currently thus the PTI machinery in overdrive to redress this in the US. Establishment is also managing this misalignment and it entails cornering PTI and also attempts to curtail its popularity to manage alignment with KB till KB-IK have some understanding and he becomes palatable.

KB only talks strategy, tactics are left to respective countries to manage on their own.

All roads lead to Amreeka Khan Bahadur. This was the case when these respected elders were in uniform, same is the case now. This is also why PTI/IK are making contacts/lobbying efforts with US congressmen and potentially even the WH.

I understand our urge to not want to be subservient to anyone. However, our situation and the mahaaz that we open up for ourselves and those that others open up (quoting a newly made famous media person) against us require alignment with this Khan Bahadur. I understand the frustrations too since we are the leaders of ummah in our own minds and thus how could we possibly be dependent on others but reality is quite different from wishful thinking.

From day one, I have maintained that Pakistan-US relations were "off-keel" and this was making itself play out in the domestic political side and the stance of the establishment. We are too "ghairatmund" as a mighty nuclear nation to admit this dependency and as such have to lie and constantly put up veneers to shield the reality from our populace. Bajwa and the incumbent, all have nothing personal against IK/PTI. The day the real "Khan Bahadur" puts the stamp of approval on our Khan sahib, he will be ushered back into the halls of power. Everything else is a bundar tamasha on the side.

I would say this being a very good thing that have happened to Pakistan.

The chooran that if establishment goes to shatters, this will have grave consequences for Pakistan’s security is all hogwash.

Pakistan needs a strong military, but it needs a totally defanged establishment reporting to Defense Secretary.

We aren't slaves to anyone, but the compulsions are as such where there is a major dependency.

Only an ostrich with its head dug in would deny that.

More importantly, I also say that I don't agree with the current stance of the establishment (I don't say PDM because they are inconsequential). I think the former and incumbent CoAS are wrong to get in the way of what the Pakistani people want. Also, I think they were/are wrong for getting in the way of free and fair elections.

I don't disagree with any of the points being made about the supremacy of the rule of law either. The problem is that something has to give. What that'll be, I have no idea. I just hope whatever it is, it is for the betterment of the people of Pakistan iA.

They have taken a hit similar to the sentiment post 1971 however it is magnified x1000 given the presence of SM now and the threat is not from the external enemies, rather one of infighting turning Pakistani against Pakistani.

I believe there is a paralysis within GHQ to think with clarity and possibly because Bajwa's appointees are not advising Asim Muneer effectively enough to see the writing on the wall which is to accede to the demands of the public and ensure free and fair elections. And to empower the SC to do what it needs to ensure that the sitting government does not play any more games. Tall order, but still easier than what awaits us down the line.

For down the line, I recall this with utter heartbreak what a junior officer mentioned to a senior officer visiting East Pakistan in the run up to Dec. 1971 where the former said "Sir, we are going to be killed like pie-dogs here". Unfortunately, emotionally and sentimentally the awaam has already killed off the fauj like pie-dogs, I hope and pray things don't get violent and that too because the fauj is seen to be siding with PDM.
