They reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue their freedom struggle till complete success. They called upon the UN to intervene to save the life, honour and property of the Kashmiris from the Indian onslaught.

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe the Indian Independence Day, tomorrow, as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that India had usurped their inalienable right to self-determination. The day will be marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir, call for which has been given by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and other resistance leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmed Shah. Protest rallies and different functions would be held in the territory and in the world capitals to highlight different dimensions of the Kashmir dispute and Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris.

The Hurriyet leaders, who have been put under house arrest or illegal detention, in their statements issued in Srinagar said that India had no moral or legal justification to celebrate its Independence Day in Jammu and Kashmir as it had occupied the territory against the will of Kashmiri people.
