Crucial Indian Cruise Missile Tests In A Year.

Well, I don't know Pakistan's capabilities and it's quite possible Pakistan does not have the interceptor technology.
Yet.
 
An interceptor missile needs higher than the target missile for a successful intercept to take place..it is basic physic..a low speed interceptor can not manouver itself enough to adjust it course to match the manouvering of high speed target.

Not true. Infact the patriot is slower than the scud.
Speed does matter. But its not as if the interceptor fails completely if it is slower than the attacking cruise missile.
 
come on your country will test this thing in a year ,.... as per your tests records it will take another 5 years to pass this to army :)

Speed does matter. But its not as if the interceptor fails completely if it is slower than the attacking cruise missile.

Scud is ballistic non manouvering missile..it follows a parabolic trajectory therfore it path can be predicted depending on the point of its origin and flight altitude..where as cruise missiles have engines on throughout it trajectory are constantly maneuvering.

- I didn't bring China because of inferiority complex but to make the point that Pakistan may be able to get access to interceptor technology. If Russia/India have the BrahMos, you can bet China is working on interceptor technology. Especially since the US claims the ESSM can do the job.

You are talking on two 'may's. First, China may developing something and second, Pakistan may acquire them!!! But India have the Brahmos operational for some years and continuously upgrading it.

- All the BrahMos diving and manoeuvering would happen early on. It is irrelevant during the terminal stage, where interception would likely happen. The BrahMos prides itself on its huge kinetic energy punch (32x Tomahawk) so it's not going to be doing anything that detracts from the final KE punch during its terminal stage. It can't anyway because of its huge forward momentum by that time. The BrahMos will be coming in straight as an arrow, which makes the interceptor's job that much easier. Especially since the interceptor is passive and the BrahMos never knows about it.

No. The most maneuvers are done in terminal phases. Take the example of S-curve maneuver.

- yes AWACS would help , but even 25 seconds is an eternity. We are talking about electronic response times, not manual firing.
Ships on the high seas wihout carrier don't have AWACS support. But again the high speed will favor Brahmos. You didn't tell us which IR guided passive missile you were talking about?

But Listening to what Sonhi Dhrti is explaining i agree that for brahmos to deliver a heavy kinetic punch at mach 3(as it claims) it should fly straight as an arrow in the terminal stages (this is where he argues that with an exceeding number of interceptors it might be possible to take it out)
Only if Brahmos was to reduce the probability of being intercepted , it would have to perfom very hard moves at mach 3 till the very last few seconds before impact that will eventually lead to bleeding of momentum thus reducing the kinetic punch it was supposed to impart on the target

basically i to dont agree with that claim that brahmos cannot be intercepted,though it will be a hard one to do especially after the success of brahmos blk 3 which can perform steep dive and s- maneuver as kinetic explained,particularly when American's r claiming the capacity to intercept it.

Though eventually Pakistan does not have the capability to intercept it,as accepted by sohini which matter's the most

The sooner the "test date" the more funding is demanded.

Let's get back to reality folks. There is no Indian hypersonic anything. That article from the OP should have given you a clue when it suggested India is going to do something Russian has never done before.

Russia & France has no budgets for such stuff. You will see alot of India-Russia, Indo-French weapon systems in the future..

You have a point but see my above post where I quoted a top official about Brahmos's high maneuverability at different points and specially during end game. It can even destroy a target on the rear side of a hill and can attack a ship from different angles. So its not a straight flight.
 
- China will have an interceptor for BrahMos. Not may. Will. You can count on it. If the US has it, then it is possible and, if it is possible, China will develop it eventually.

- I am not a military person so I don't know the latest gizmos and their specs but it is a fact that long range IR sensors exist, and heat-seeking missiles do exist.

- BrahMos will not do dives and random evasive manoeuvers just for the fun of it -- only if it thinks it is being tracked. And heat-seeking missiles are passive.

- BrahMos wants to maximize the KE punch at the end. It won't -- it can't -- do sharp manoeuvers in the terminal phase because any such turn would tear the missile apart at mach7. Any sharp turns in the terminal phase would come at the expense of forward momentum and reduced speed, which then makes it vulnerable to conventional interceptors.
