@atatwolf

please be polite with @Armstrong . He always talks in a mannered way and has the respect of the most of the Turks here.
My apologies if I reacted emotional but it rubbed me the wrong way he accused me of Pan-turkism when I just only care about Turkmen.

Turkey itself is made up of various ethnic groups that were turkified over time , you need to think in terms of a bigger picture, neither kurds or arabs in iraq and syria have a strong cultural background to match turkey or its economic strength . The creation of a multi-ethnic confederation in Syria will certainly benefit turkey much more where through education , movie , music and culture it could turkify people living there by time .

I think Turks , Kurds and Sunni Arabs living in Northern Syria and Iraqi Anbar , should form some form of a confederation .

After partition of Syria , Iraq will be next .
Always nice to read your opinion.

Iraq is not like other countries. It is a made up country and if it is fragmenting between Kurds and Arabs .. Why shouldn't Turkmen get piece of the pie? Maybe you should answer that before insulting? Turken are getting killed and driven out of Turkmen lands. They need protection.

Please stop the cheap separatist propaganda. The same way you don't like countries talking about separating a big chunk of Turkey through Kurds, Syria,Iraq and Iran also won't like people like you mentioning anything about their land. Iraq is an artificial country according to who? Based on that conclusion, more than half of world's countries are artificial since they were established long after Iraqi independence.

You didn't understand what I said if you think that. If Kurds and Arabs can regional government in Iraq. Why wouldn't Turkmen have piece of the pie? Are you racist? I don't want Iraq to fragment. I want it to stay a whole but if it does Turkmen should get piece of the pie.

By the way you are the last to talk about separatist. Your government supports PKK terrorist. How would you feel if we support Azeri, Baloch, Arab and Kurdish separatist in Iran?

Iraq is good the way it is and if Turkmens of Iraq really want independence or to be a federal state within Iraq, they can stand up and fight for it, I don't see any political or military struggle among Iraqi Turkmen for independence.

And no, we are not supporting PKK, that trick doesn't work for you anymore, choose a fresh one.

What does "we" mean? You are talking as if you are a official representative of Iran.

Or maybe Irans foreign minister is a poster in this forum; after all you speak so sure of you're country....

So only way to let your voice hear is to be terrorist? Thanks for your mindset but Turkmen are not like that. They requested military help from Turkey. They didn't chose to be terrorist and kill random people.

Mrtopuz gave perfect answer.

If the turks of iran ever want to break away from iran the epic center of that civil war would be Tehran :yahoo: , it'de be a war between Persian speaking former torks of tehran and the rural tork, I can't wait for such a day

'We' means Iran as a country.I'm not official representive, but I do know what's going on around my country and I do know that Iran is not supporting PKK now, otherwise they wouldn't even think about making peace with Turkey, you know what I mean. We are supposed to base our conclusions on the news we recieve and the realities or otherwise, we couldn't say anything for sure since we aren't FM or an official of the country.
And supporting PKK, while we are at war (now in a fargile truce) with a branch of PKK, Pjak, is as stupid as it sounds.

Not only if turks break away they would be killing torks , but if torks of iran start a racial war , then we "Persians" can cleanse the arabs out and claim their oilfields.

Guys, please don't turn it into a Iran vs Turk thing.

Back to topic, as a Turk, I'm highly against pan-Turkism or ultra nationalism.

Both would destroy our country. Turkey is our land our nation. So being a majorty in Turkey doesn't mean that we're a majorty in all countries too. Yes we have Turkmen people at Iraq with a accurate population. The best thing we can do is defending their rights and cooperate with Iraqi gov't in order to provide a comfortable life. That's all we can do*,

i respect everybodys views, opinions but pan-Turkism is not a healthy ideology the same goes for the other ideologies such as Arabic nationalism or Hitler style.

(*= Operation Northern Watch is an exception)

Iran doesn't have military power to both defeat Turkey+Azerbaijan+Azeri in Iran.

There are 30 million Azeri in Iran plus a lot of Arabs, Kurds and Baloch.

You don't make sense. Azeri won't kill Azeri. The Azeri I spoken to don't feel Persian but ethnic Azeri.

Don't make this about Azeribijani. Your dream of taking Azerbaijan won't work. There is a big brother behind Azerbaijan now.

Iran has enough missiles to cripple the entire azeri oil industry.

I have a very hard time understand these pan-Turkic people.

1) They want autonomy and freedom for Uyghurs. Fine, I agree with this opinion. Uyghurs suffer a lot under Chinese oppression. They deserve their own autonomy. They are a rather sustainable amoung of people too and they are distanct than the other Chinese people.

2) They want a Turkmen autonomy in KRG and Iraq. Fine, even as a Kurd who supports the integrity of KRG and Iraq I do not oppose this. Despite their small numbers and that they only constitute a majority in the outskirts of Mosul and Kerkuk. But if they really want an ethnic autonomy, they should be granted the chance. I do not see a problem with that

3) They want a Turkmen autonomy in Western Kurdistan in Northern Syria. I do not even oppose this autonomy despite the fact that they only constitute about 1/30 of the villages in the predominant Kurdish areas. If they want their own parliament and their own government, they should be allowed to.

Now, what makes me wonder a whole lot is why these pan-Turkic persons can not accept a Kurdish autonomy despite the fact that the Kurds constitute a population that numbers 5 times the total Turkmen population? The Kurds are not even as spread out as the Turkmens and would probably be twice as safe and governable than a Turkmen state in four different countries. The funny thing is that Turkmens in KRG and Iraq, despite only numbering very low compared to the general Iraqi and Kurdish population, have far better political ,cultural and linguist rights than any Kurd in Turkey has. Not one single Turkman party in KRG has been closed, not one single Turkman politician has been imprisoned and not one single Turkman village has been burned down to the ground. They even have Turkmen schools and Turkmen mother language education.

So my question is; If KRG can grant the Turkmens, who number somewhere between 300.000-500.000, their own schools with mother language education in Turkoman, how come it is such a big deal for Turkey to do the same to its 20-25 million Kurds?
